University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Hockey East is a funny league, night in and night out anyone can win. Maine absolutely waxed Merrimack at home and then we went to BC and shat our pants. Merrimack goes to BC last night and wins while BC sleepwalks through the game. Granted Merrimack isn't a marquee draw BC should have won. Maybe world juniors hangover.

UNH looked like garbage against UConn and Flagshipmass hammered Northeastern. You just never know..

Zero penalties for umlololol. Ok riiiiiiiight, nevah evah seen that happen
umlol will come out with their hair on fire tonight. Booyaah hafta frustrate them early and we need one of those seeing eye scores right at the end of the first period just to demolish their will.

That is exactly what happened end of 2nd last night. I had perfect view of it from center ice on the penalty box side. Breazeale ripped a slapper that was barely high enough to clear the blocker and it perfectly squeezed in the 5 hole that was closing… kind of rattled through his pads and in. Breazeale had two more extremely close chances. One was a 3-on-1 and I couldn’t understand how he missed the puck watching live at the game, seemed like an easy tap in. Turns out the Lowell guy got under his stick and lifted it when Brazeale tried to tap it in a wide open net. And then he also had a breakaway all by himself where he blew the doors off the Lowell forward to get to a lose puck and goes in all alone and deked and missed a backhand but made Welsh stretch out for the save. Breazeale is really becoming a dominant player the last few games. He was always good, but these last few games he’s been Great!

They had a penalty but it was matching so no Maine PP.. 3rd line scores tonight and lots of PPs for both sides as it get physical tonight
 
About as one sided of a period for Maine as you’re gonna see.

Lowell can’t get out of their own way and play disciplined at all.

The ~90 seconds left on this power play to start the second could really bury this game if Maine can convert.
 
Did anybody see the Renwick play? I was looking away from the ice, heard everyone go in an uproar, looked and saw their goalie on his back and Renwick being escorted to the box. Totally bizarre sequence, never seen anything like it.

Bumped the goalie on the way out from the tunnel.
Not intentional.
