Yes, Sterlippo is a Genuine Good Guy, and a fan of college hockey in general, not just of BC. He is one of the exceptions to the rule about BC fans. He convinced me of this a few years ago.

Yep even from the newbie I give the cast of approval to Sterlippo....Genuine posts! Appreciate the UNH respect too..

J.D. and Onion Man are on our thread a lot but they seem to be very partisan and not so even handed.

I will root for any HE team left in the FF so I will root for BC. My daughter is friends with Brian Billet and she says he is a great kid.

Hey e.cat long time no see! Am in full agreement with your observations of the BC crew that come by here...and, I guess I too will throw my support FWIW ;) behind the lone HE rep in the FFour. I'm of the ABBUnion persuasion at this time...haha:p

Lowell lost hellenbuyck good night Irene, will be interesting to see how well Bazin does next year with his depleted arsenal. PC fortunate not to lose Gillies, his second half season not as strong as first. BC than PC , one and two for next year with UNH somewhere in the middle.

Why are you using so many question marks? Why are you using question marks to begin with?

because i was ****ed off ;)

Good to see all the love for Sterlippo. Should we make him an honorary member of Wildcat Nation? Lets vote on it. :)

Yes! ............ There's a reason why UNH wins that sportsmanship thing all the time :)

Re: UNH Wildcats 2014 Post-Season Thread: "Maybe Dick" Hunts the Great White Whale

From the big picture perspective department on the UML thread:

I don't disagree, but is it unrealistic to think they could be a program like UNH? The school seems committed to making sure they hockey program is successful. One example being they bought the Tsongas center and renovated it.

I bust balls but it is good to see a team that has never really seen success do well and push the Goliaths.

There is no reason why Lowell can't be on the same level as UNH or Maine

Hey Ref. Hope all is well with you and hubby. I've been in UNH hockey withdrawal/rehab. Hate to see the boys go early like TVR but whatta ya goin to do but wish him well and move on. Other teams are losing a lot as well.

Keep telling you guys UMass Lowell is going to be just fine regardless. Get used to it, they are here to stay.

As long as you have the right guy running the program - and they do - everything else will fall into place.

Don't they have a pretty decent back up? And yeah...Bazin will figure it out. Still...it's a loss for them. I'd almost, almost venture to say our TvR loss is on a greater scale...(not trying to one up UML fans...). Kind of surprised Gilles is hanging in one more year (or two!) PC has a lot returning and his second half of his year wasn't as good perhaps? Just musin'..

ps..Can't blame them for leaving when they can make this kind of scratch doing what they love:

The Winnipeg Jets are pleased to announce they have agreed to terms with goaltender Connor Hellebuyck on a three-year, two-way, entry level contract with an average annual value of $925,000.

UML also loses senior goalie Doug Carr, who was in the top five goalies for GAA and SV% in Div 1 all year, although only played 12 games, compared to 22, 33, and 19 in his first three years. No one else got any time in net this year, so not sure who will be stepping into their net next season. However, the Ospreys are only losing three forwards and one D-man, so agree with Chuck that they will be a formidable opponent again next year, assuming that they find a stopper in the net.

Thanks for the info on the UML goalie situation; wasn't sure where Carr was in this mix..he played against us at NH this year...Speaking of UML players it's just so WILD to watch BOTH Holstrum brothers; one plays for the AHL Phantoms Ben (Kev G's team) and the other, for Bridgeport..(Josh) and they are playing against each other tonight. Announcer was remarking how just 2 weeks ago Holstrum and Goumas were playing against one another...

Yeah losing the number one goalie in the country (.941 Save pct. and 1.78 GAA) is going to be a big loss for them. But IF they can get another quality goalie in there I think they'll still be alright.

And I have them losing 7 Seniors:
Carr
Houk & Furlong on defense
Thompson, Holmstrom, Pendenza, Arnold for forwards

Then they had Hellebuyck, Folin, and Wilson turn pro.

So they are losing some of their top guys...

Wow that is quite the arsenal to lose! We of course have our work cut out with the offense we lost with graduations but am excited/hopeful that Willows and Co can put it together! It will be interesting to see who hangs around from the teams in the FFour...

Boyle from Amherst is eligible next year for Lowell.

I forgot about Folin and Wilson leaving early, but I was only counting the impact seniors who played a fair bit. So, Bazin will have his work cut out for himself this coming year. Now I am thinking BC, PC, UVM, Maine, and Notre Dame will be favorites this coming season.

Notre Dame is also losing about 10 seniors including a goalie and gutting its defense. Lucia is an NHL prospect, not sure if he'll return.

I see BC and PC as Frozen Four contenders, while 3-9 is a toss-up amongst
Maine
Northeastern
UNH
Lowell
Notre Dame
Vermont
BU - with star freshman Eichel

I think UNH fans are 'steeling' ourselves for some what of a rebuild next year. But I also think the team will come along through the year (here's hoping) as the new guys develop to the College game..

BTW e.cat thought you'd like to know (maybe you already know) our Big K got his first pro point today (assist) and was named the #2 star for his efforts by his team, the Marlies!! Way to go Eric...
