if you want to break up the "runs" that's cool but your "short gaps" are one year 01-02 and 08-09. I think you can pretty much say that the "run" was started in 1998 like he said but what ever fits for you i guess:cool:

Also in that category Minn, UND, Wisco, MTU, Denver, Michigan have all had runs like this.

Going to disagree with almost all of this. Not a single senior has graduated from BC since 1997 without going to a Frozen Four. That's pretty much a continued run without disruption. One rough .500 year due to 3 late summer departures by NHLers. 2003 was a good team that easily was FF material but of course they had to go to the NCAAs without another NHLer due to an unfortunate incident that wasn't the kid's fault. 2009 didn't have the guns but still battled to a +.500 record. 2011 was a wagon 1 seed that somehow got Umiliated by CC and easily could have and should have contended for the title. Last year probably the worst team of the bunch in my book with no real identity to speak of and still made the NCAAs as a 2 seed I think. No seasons under .500.

Basically most 2-3 year spans in that timeframe could match what most teams do in their entire program's history. Ahem.

And really in the modern era, it's a stretch to say it's been matched by other programs when you consider the totality of the titles, title game appearances, FFs, wins, conf titles, etc.

Please note I did type - depending on how you want to argue it. I did it knowing that I moved the line back from 14 years to 16 years.

I could have predicted that BC fans would come on a UNH topic and essentially argue that this BC run is the greatest of all time by any program ever if you consider the current circumstances with NHL and blah, blah, blah...

You do realize you made my original point "minus they are BC and hence have BC fans". I really wish you guys had the class of your coach.

Finally - don't you all have jobs? How the heck do you have the time or desire to waste time reading a pile of topics on this forum? I can't keep up with more than 3 or 4 topics (typically UNH related only), I just don't want to spend that much time that way. Honestly no idea how you (or why you have the desire to) do it. Note rhetorical questions.

I agree with this, although I wouldn't mind seeing the Gophers winning either. Great hosts when we went to the 2002 FF in St. Paul, made some good friends, like the area a lot, was psyched to see them beat UMaine in OT in the Finals (yes, TIMMAY came that close to winning a D-1 title :eek: ), and the best reason of all ... the skating cheerleaders. :) :)

And as JB has succinctly pointed out ... the BC fans have gone and proven his point. Well done, gents!! :p

A person made a statement that 2 BC fans disagreed with and posted so . Is there something wrong with that? Geesh. As usual, condemn the entire fan base

I just don't understand why BC fans would even bother with the UNH off season thread. Doesn't the team you cheer for (notice I said "team" not "you guys") have a big game or two coming up? So, some UNH fans don't want your team to win and may put a little spin on history. Big deal. Do Red Sox fans want the Yankees to win because they are in the same division?

Maybe because we are college hockey fans and we are in Hockey East and have a long time relationship with UNH hockey so maybe we are interested in what you guys say? Maybe that's why we read your thread?????

I know crazy right. God forbid we have a good conversation without any name calling and we get the typical get a job, why are you on our thread (why are you discussing BC in your thread? Don't you have a game in October to talk about?).

Anyway Chuck we'll see about your UML prediction but you let me know what time ohio state and umass are playing next weekend ok? Nice rinks tho!!!!!

Thanks goodness I set my beer down before reading this. Fermented beverage shot though the nose over a computer keyboard while trying to contain my laughter is not a good combination. :) :)

With all due respect....and I appreciate the fact that you care what UNH fans say....there is a small but very vocal contingent of BC fans that go out of their way to crap on UNH in these threads. And several of us have endured a decade and a half of the BC BS. "UHN"......."Umileated"....."University of No Hardware"......yada yada yada yada :rolleyes: So yeah, it's annoying.

And for what it's worth...I'm not necessarily rooting for BC, other than the fact that BC winning the national championship makes Hockey East look good. IMHO, I just think that that they are the best team in the Frozen Four. That's all.

well I guess we received a tremendous compliment from the BC contingent, perhaps winning spur's on boredom. I for one will cheer on the only hockey East team . Even thou a select few ( select)are completely arrogant. Doesn't humbleness account for anything anymore.

Agree, I would like to see BC win. The thing is some of their posters make you want to hate the team.
