Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

If UNH gets in and somehow plays in Worcester, I'm going to support my team. I dont care how badly they played this year, how much the program has declined, blah blah blah. Lets Go Blue!

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

Understood. My bad for jumping into conversation mid stream.

I am a HUGE Miami fan tonight.

I hope they have something to play for , they will be a one seed even losing, ferris on the other hand is in a must win game .. i think RIT looms just as large

I think you would see a large crowd , they usualy get two or three thousand at least ( in the past) i will even go to albany if they end up there.

Moreover, have we EVER cared about the Atlantic Hockey tourney before? It still looks like an RIT loss is a great help to UNH, possibly pushing us up far enough that nothing else matters. Remember, I said POSSIBLY. 256 combos is more than I care to examine.:D

Think of it this way... if Miami wins, they could be the #1 overall seed and get to play Ala-Hutsville, a team that, no disrespect intended, is waaaaaay down in the RPI. If they finish #2, they could get RIT who is a top 25 (and could go higher) RPI team. We're at a point where any team can beat any team, but if there's a difference, I'd rather take my chances with a 12 win team than a 25 win team (or whatever they're at)....

Don't forget the ties ;)

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

the only scenario i found where UNH seemed to be out was where Union, Brown - Ferris & RIT WIN. To further ensure that this will not happen I'm going to run down to the sports book and place a 4 way wager on this outcome.

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

I understand the PWR concept, not all the intricacies, hope UNH makes the NCAA tournament and does well, but if I am a VT, ME, MI fan whose team(s) may not qualify while UNH does, I'd be pretty disappointed.

>>>

I am not a BC fan at all, thankfully less of a ME fan which makes rooting for BC easier. Watching BC throw shots at Madore in the 1st two periods was frustrating. Why couldn't we do that? Between games I listened to a 98.5 FM radio interview with a BC player, Kreider I think (thank goodness he's been drafted because he has the potential to be a super sized Ben Eaves-like nightmare for the next three years), who was asked about the impact the size of the VT defenseman had on the game. He responded that BC had talked about that all week and it made it more of a challenge to impose their style of play on VT, which they did for 2 periods.

Going back a few pages on this thread and to a post I made last year, I am convinced that Jerry York runs a bat the puck out of the air drill in practice.

disappointed that you didn't win more games during the regular season that mattered? (Michigan has a ton of wins, of course they have played 43ish games already), or disappointed that you had a chance to play your way into the tourney and failed?

In MI's case (my least favorite college hockey team) because they are as hot as any team in college hockey right now. In VT and ME's cases because they handled UNH.

Maybe true, I can't recall all the permutations I ran this morning, however, if Union, NMU and Maine all win, UNH is out as well. That's assuming a win by all the other remaining higher seeds. That's the scenario that I seem to recall as the most troubling this morning. Probably unlikely but I would not call any of those outcomes a long shot.

VT was 0-3-1 before UNH dis-remembered how to deal with their trap. ME and UNH each won on their home ice. Not sure either qualifies as "handled."

To me (a huge fan of both UM and UNH) I want to see them both in, and think it's pretty likely. This is why college hockey and hockey in general are so exciting. Michigan struggled all year - caught fire and who knows how far they go. UNH may possibly limp into the tourney and again - who knows how far they go. That's why the play the games.

Another game which helps unh is if north dak. loses . but the consolation game between wis and den. is important if that scenario plays out ... simply put , we need either st cloud , mich , rit , to lose .

ok, now I'm confused

dont want to confuse you .. if all those teams happen to win , st cloud , RIT and Mich.

unh still can get in if North dak. loses.

if they lose , and denver wins the consolation against wis, than they can get in that way as well

I just.. I um.... I would bet good money if St. Cloud wins then North Dakota would lose. And I'm not the gambling type ;)
