UNH Off Season Thread 2011

Re: UNH Off Season Thread 2011

At least we get to keep our one and only home game with Maine at the Whitt, instead of Fenway. :p :)

Re: UNH Off Season Thread 2011

That schedule just sucks. Who the heck layed that out and said to themselves this looks like a good idea.

Its like whoever did, didn't even try. Also to see such a great competitive non-con sked...

Re: UNH Off Season Thread 2011

BU is done with BC & UNH by Dec 8th -odd schedules to say the least.

does BU and BC at least have a home and home? Thats what I can't figure out. Why they'd space those games out so UNH doesn't have a home and home with ANY of the boston schools. Its stupid as far as I'm concerned. Part of what makes hockey east great compared to the other conferences WAS the abundance of home and homes, and now we have 3.

December 2nd and 3rd, I assume, would be a home/home.

Re: UNH Off Season Thread 2011

Does anyone know how the mechanics of putting the league schedule work? ( I don't) Just wondering how much say the individual teams have or if HE does most of the scheduling.

Obviously, UNH alone bears responsibility for the less than stellar non-conference schedule.

I took a peek back, and its been since they decided to do the 2 games back to back at UMass, or home vs. UMass (the last 2 years) that the home and home series has dwindled... last season it was 5 home and homes, the previous year it was 4. before that, it was 7 (the max) for all of the years I looked back. I'd LOVE to hear an explaination as to how this can happen, how there's no home and home with BU AND BC. I don't know if its the league's joke, or UNH's joke, but it's a joke of a schedule.

Especially with two road weekends at the end of the season...as I said a few weeks back, Senior Night is going to be quite early this coming season

Re: UNH Off Season Thread 2011

Certainly UNH's weakest OOC schedule in years - three Ivies, UAH, Union, St. Cloud for two. That's only one team that was in the top 16 last year and at least three teams that were in the bottom 16. UNH better win them all. No weekend series vs. the Boston teams. Is this by design? Has the league instituted some policy that they want to get rid of these to reduce animosities building up? Weekend series against the same opponent are a college hockey staple (except in the ECAC), with HE unique with home and homes. It's one of those things that makes the league attractive. I'd like to hear something from Bertagna on this. As for being on the road the last two weeks of the season, I'm still trying to figure out why having senior night three weeks before the season ends is acceptable to UNH and the league. Here's hoping that some accommodation is made either with UMass or Maine. Not sure how they would do it but the effort should be made, for sure.

BTW, the at St. Cloud games are the same weekend as the UNH-UMass football game at Foxboro. Had made very tentative plans to go out to St. Cloud but, at this point, the football game seems more attractive.

if that were the reasoning it would be insanity.............they're called heated rivalries ;)and they are fun and beneficial to the league,IMO.......

Re: UNH Off Season Thread 2011

Wooo, got an email for renewing season tickets today. Looks like all new pricing for different sections. Interesting stuff. Here is a link to the new season ticket seating prices:

They don't like to make anything easy, I have been sitting in 110 for years, even before they made them reserve, so do I not get them now since I am not a young alumi? There are only like 15 season tickets over there, heaven forbid you go back and make it GA, it is usally that way anyways. Make it easier for everyone.
