UNH Hockey 2023-2024 Season Thread - End Of The Cellar-Dweller Era??

So the solution to this dismal game is 6 to first like center (after 2 penalties) and move Cy to the 3rd line.

If he wants to send a message blow it all up tomorrow. But he’s gutless so we will continue with this mess.
 
Remember when we used to compete with BC & BU instead of looking like a club team against them. I hate them both. I know Maine is everyone else's main rival as UNH fans, but for me it's BU & BC. Dream of the day where we just beat the tar out of both on to a Natty one year. Just hope that dream eventually becomes a reality.
 
Scotty B. may have missed on getting in the "kill shot" on MS7 last weekend, but I like his chances tomorrow ... :-(
 
Yup 'Ref ... even if Lavins is ready & willing to throw down ... the rest of the showing tonight has been pathetic.

Looks like I've been fooled again ...
 
Starting to feel like the 2019-20 season. Played well early on, mid high hockey east standings thru February then the freefall to the bottom 4 of the league.

And, we got our goal! What more can be expected? Oh, Marty increased his penalty minutes from 12 to 20, without even a major. No longer SMT for Mahty.

'Ref, for the record, you were a late goalpost away from picking the final score on the nose. Kudos.

Total embarrassment. No show from the start, and BC pretty much put it in cruise control for the duration.

Even if he's a long-time BC coach these days, this had to be a tough watch for Coach Ayers tonight ...

And for the old Maine fans, UNH is not close to being a rival. That “honor” goes squarely to the scarlet Satans of BU

And I noticed that Hellsten gives up more goals to good teams than he did against Princeton and Sacred Heart. Who wouldda thunk it?
 
Just to be clear, for anyone questioning my relationship with reality ;-) it’s fine. My emotional attachment to the UNH Wildcats men’s hockey team is a fractional sliver of what it once was.

Well the storm hit, and it wasn’t pretty. Tonight’s result clearly and painfully illustrates how far this team is from being an actual contender. The separation is a mile long chasm.

While I agree with your sentiment it doesn't help when the team just plain doesn't show up, spend most of the night in the box...But yeah, we aren't even close.
 
Not showing up and undisciplined play are excuses and symptoms of the problem. This team, and more accurately this program, are not even close to contender level.
