To quote the famous Coach Dennis Greene "They were who we thought they were." So sad.
One more note on Danny Dries’ fine Wildcat career. He played a key role in the 2008 HE semifinal loss, taking a completely pointless penalty in the third overtime.
First the good news: we are still 16th in PWR
Now the bad news, we were leapfrogged in HEA points standing tonight by NU (20), UMassywassy (22) extended their lead, and Yukon (20) still 1 point up. But, good news within the bad news is that we have 3 games in hand over Yukon and 4 games in hand over NU, so still plenty of time for MS7 to pull a rabbit out of his hat, so to speak.
NU with wins over BC, BU, Maine and Quinnippiac since the break..UNH is lucky to have faced them early.
I think Fitzgerald might be the worse D man we have had in years. A 3 on 1 is tough but make an effort to do something. And my sources tell me that it is common sentiment.
And for the love all things holy can Huard realize you can't shoot through shin pads? Also can he put effort in when he is chasing a 2 on 1. I understand losing with a lack of talent, but not effort.
There are basic fundamentals of hockey missing. How to play an odd man rush, goalie loses a stick D gives one to play with.
And we are back to declining power plays. The last BU goal on the PP was simple, move around pass the puck and the guy in front literally stood there the pass hit his stick and puck went in.
Question is, can we beat MC tomorrow?
Well if you're (and I'm talking UNH) going to play sloppy inconsistent hockey that is true. I'll give it to NU on their upsurge but UNH has regressed a ton losing 4 of their last 6.
How they respond tomorrow is pretty important.
Good luck in the Beanpot.
A quick glance at the standings, it looks like fifth is the best placing we can realistically achieve. The two with UMA will be big and need to take care of business otherwise. Last night was an okay loss. Losing tonight will not be good for the PWR and a NCAA at large bid. I'm doing quick informal rough estimate math here. The eyeball test tells me the 'cats barely hold on to home ice for the fake round of the HEA tournament with a 50/50 shot at winning depending on the opponent.First the good news: we are still 16th in PWR

Nah. They've been letting us down slow and easy for over a month now.Wouldn't it be fitting - just SO UNH - for Scotty B. to put the dagger in on his UNH counterpart, when all Borek dreamed about for a decade-plus was to get the job Souza got when Coach Umile finally decided to hang 'em up.
You just know Borek is gonna have his guys flying. I don't think UNH is gonna even know what hit them 'til it's too late ...
... it just feels like everything we've seen to date is building up to this crashing, crushing ending.
Whether it's tomorrow night (actually later tonight) in Durham, or next Saturday in North Andover. Maybe both??
'Twas written in the stars in the early "Wild West" days of USCHO ... The End
Yes.Scotty Borek is 6-5-2 against MS7 since the 2018/2019 season, so all the pressure is on MS7.
Now that Hellsten’s GAA has dropped to 2.00 (went from 2nd to 6th) and SV% has dropped to 0.910 (went from 9th to 29th, tie), will MS7 start Muse against Mac?
Nah. They've been letting us down slow and easy for over a month now.
