UNH Hockey 2023-2024 Season Thread - End Of The Cellar-Dweller Era??

Kudos to Barr for landing them. Everyone talks about this as a forgone recruiting outcome when it still takes quite a bit of recruiting savvy to bring it to fruition. They played JR hockey in BC, I think they probably could have survived college a bit further away. Barr landed them. Period.

Actually, Gendron recruited Bradly Nadeau and not Barr. I believe he also committed to Maine before Red died. His brother Josh followed him as I understand it.

You got it a little flipped. Josh is two years older, and was recruited and committed first(during Gendron). Brad followed after and committed. Both wanted to play for Maine due to proximity so their family and friends could get to the games easiest.

Winning with class takes a lot of effort but obviously you can’t do that. Being a douche bag and making a comment is completely different.

Your final SAT question to get into fry cook school is, if Maine losses the semis and first round of the regional, is that much better?

Ok then I will just make a comment, UNH lost to Maine again in a very important game. For us, it feels great.

Whoops!! My mistake. Thanks.

Can't open your link, e.cat. Comes up with an error message. Do we have a decision already???

Sorry about that.

The AD posted on X and I quote "It was rough night, but I'm so proud of this team and what they accomplished this season. We will miss our seniors, but are already looking forward to next year!"

Doesn't sound like a change is coming based on that tweet.

Or read another way......she's already got a replacement lined up. Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks.......

The only reason why I might disagree is because of her irrational exuberance about the results this year. Don't get me wrong 20 wins is improvement but as Chuck pointed out it's just a mediocre season compared to Umile. If she is so excited about the performance this year would she be moving on from MS7?

I guess...esp with MS7 named a finalist for HE COTY

Ben Barr should be a unanimous choice. How anyone could vote for Souza after last weekend, no idea.

Another example of the Hockey East lifers throwing a life raft to one of their own for an extra line on his CV.

Oh, and thanks for doing the research to confirm the time lapse last year with Coach Herrion's dismissal. :-)

I like the way you're thinking, Scott. My heart is with your analysis ... my head is with e.cat's sobering take.

Now that I've seen her tweet on X ... I will only say it's interesting she did not mention Coach in her tweet. Considering he is apparently a HEA COTY candidate (as 'Ref points out), I find it a little odd he's not incorporated into her otherwise upbeat post. Maybe she's leaving the door ajar for (1) an overqualified candidate becoming available in D-1 land, OR (2) she's otherwise gonna offer MS7 a modest one or two year deal, with a nominal increase, and she is not assuming he'll be willing to accept her terms.

I think still we'll find out by Friday, next Monday at the latest.

The longer it waits, I think it's a tell she's looking for better ...
