UNH Football 2009

Re: UNH Football 2009

UNH trails due to two missed PATs (one two-pointer). But they hung in there at the end of the quarter when it looked, twice, like they were going down two scores. And now they're driving with the wind.

Re: UNH Football 2009

UNH gets an interception at the Villanova five yard line. They don't move the ball an inch and have to settle for a FG. Score now 28-24 UNH.

Re: UNH Football 2009

14, 811 in attendance today. Villanova turn it over on downs and UNH have the ball with 2:41 to play and a 28-24 lead.

Re: UNH Football 2009

UNH so busy celebrating a sack that they get called for illegal participation on a quick-snap. Stops the clock with 77 seconds left. Nova at their own 17.

Re: UNH Football 2009

Nova 4th and 9 from its own 35.

UNH wins! :)

Great defense throughout the last 20 minutes of that game against the No. 2 team in the country. Terrific win. UMass next week.

Re: UNH Football 2009

UNH wins it's biggest game in a long time, as they beat #2 Villanova on Homecoming day. Richmond will beat James Madison 21-17. JMU had the ball on the Richmond 6 and fumbled. Next up for UNH will be UMass at Amherst. UNH now 5-0 to start the year and 2-0 in the CAA. Only ugly part of this game was the UNH offensive line really got pushed around by Villanova today. This defense is night and day compared to recent years. Great stuff,

Final score:

UNH 28 - Villanova 24

Re: UNH Football 2009

Just an awesome game. Homecoming, beautiful (albeit VERY windy which came into play for and against each team) weather, 14,000+ fans (I can't remember a bigger crowd) and a big win against the #2 team in the country. It wasn't perfect, but it's not like it was Towson they were playing against...

Good times

A wierd scheduling anomale (sp?) is this was Villanova's first game outside of Philly this year (3 home games, one against Temple at the Link and one at Penn)....

I'll take it!

Hugo Souza says "5-0! THUMBS UP!"

Re: UNH Football 2009

UMass, next week's opponent, trails Delaware 20-3 after one quarter in Delaware tonight.

Re: UNH Football 2009

UMass has homecoming on Saturday, which will certainly play a big role in attendance at the football game, and hopefully the hockey game against BU. Havens really needs to step it up or UNH will really pumult him.

Re: UNH Football 2009

I was at the game. It was a fun game to watch and a BIG win for UNH.

BTW--Mike O'Malley gave props to UNH football on D&C (WEEI) yesterday morning. Pretty Cool!

Does anyone else remember when Chuch Murray wanted Sean McDonald tarred and feathered and run out of Durham. :)

And Sean McDonald gives thanks to Ricky Santos every night.

He was able to turn Santos's success into better recruiting.
