UNH 2024/2025 Goldberg Edition

Conmy- 23/24- 31 pts
24/25- 20 pts (on pace for 44 pts in 36 games)
JVR- 07/08- 34 pts
08/09- 40 pts (36 games played)
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Conmy must be scoring because he is on a lessor team and the PP sucks eh??

Well your elite players were invisible tonight. But hey, they can beat up on the EZAC teams, so there’s that.

Yeah I knew Jellyroll would be silent. Must be part of the inner circle. There is no excuse for poor effort and tonight was that. Lot of pressure tomorrow. But hey we know post break the roller coaster starts the downhill part.

Striving to jump NU for 10th is great goal. Currently 15th and out of the regionals.

UNH back up to 14th in PWR and would be seventh HEA team to make the NCAAs if selection happened tonight. Of course, only five at most HEA teams will be there at the end of the regular season.

That was an inexcusable performance. I definitely can understand the cynicism surrounding this team/coaching/talent. I have seen glimpses of much better talent than we saw last evening. It makes me wonder if effort is the bigger problem and that translates to coaching. It is still early, and a win tonight will keep us moving in the right direction. I sit corrected on all points:p (still forever optimistic).

He played well all game. Hustle in front of you helps.

I’ll agree with the second point, don’t know that he was taxed enough to assess the first point. They hit him or the pipe repeatedly, but I only recall one save that required him to move (LeClerc, in so tight that the only chance might have been 5 hole as he was moving). The pipe in the second that they all briefly celebrated might have changed the game, but alas … When Snives posted the over/under at 14 I unhappily chose the under. Last night’s team could still make the under. That’s the worst they have looked with Jensen on the ice. I’m gonna hope that was their ‘Michigan’ game and they put that team away for the rest of the season.

7/8 league points have come from our 3 games with 1 win Northeastern. Only one other point in 5 hockey East tries (lost shootout in North Andover), just goes to show that cupcake factory that was our OOC schedule... It doesn't get any easier from here, points in hand (assuming you win then both for 6 points) is only good enough for 7th place. Anything else is going to have to be earned head to head.

Hey I for one appreciate the optimism! And I thought in the first few mins the 'Cats were up for it but then the penalties and undisciplined play started. You can't win a game when you spend nearly an entire period in the box...(Checks notes and oh yeah...an entire period and losing Marty the rest of the game was not a good thing..)

Today is a big one...they are all big ones from here on out..Your comments about readiness to play/effort has always been my biggest complaint about MS7 coached teams. Who knows...maybe they expected the Fruskies to roll over and play dead?

UConn set the tone and while this morning a few are saying the officiating was a factor I would disagree...they took it to us and we took bad penalties...

Agree with aerman (always good to see you and the Mrs last night!) that we really didn't give TyMuz too much to handle despite outshooting them by a few. I will say Cronins goal was a beauty.

Wow! Did I say 14? If so, was incredibly generous of me. I guess that I overestimated this team in my 20 wins prediction, which was based on bringing back essentially the same 20-win team from last season, with the only question being whether Whale could compete on the same level as Helsten in net. What I apparently failed to consider was other HEA teams becoming much better than they were last season, except for NU.

But overall just an ugly game for UNH..looking forward to your comments Mr. Murray!!

Keeping most of my powder dry, TBH I've got other things I'm focused on today ... but hopefully we'll see a better performance in Storrs. As I shared with you during the game, I thought UConn brought the intensity (and initiated the chippy play), UNH didn't match the intensity at first, and then overreacted once the game started to slip away from them. Someone commented earlier about the captain engaging in some needless WWE activity while UConn put together the clinching 3-0 PPG, and that was just the worst example of that approach.

Mucinex deprived of a shutout late (somehow I managed to make it through UConn's ENG afterwards), but made the saves he needed to make, left a TON of juicy rebounds out there ... but no brave UNH forwards in the dirty areas there to contest for any of those.

Luce is still a total scumbag, but it doesn't mean he's not a better coach than MS7. He's no Jerry York, either ...

Out of curiosity, what did Luce do to draw your ire?

Vaguely but don’t really need a half page post full memory refresh ;)

Ha, ha, good one, Darius. :)

My short version from memory is that Chuck thinks that Luce takes too much credit when assistant coach for the Iggles’ three Natties but has done Jack (Parker?) at Yukon since, despite being the highest paid HC in HEA.

Just saw the line up for today...both MacPherson boys in...Babbage the extra player..Sraskins sits.

Hey let's stay out of the box 'Cats! Also..time for Colton Huard to score...didn't realize he has no goals this season?

I will give you credit, your nickname Luce Canaan is fitting. His passion and fire gave the BC teams he coached an edge. One that’s been missing for the last 10 years.

And if you are in fact correct, where are all of BC’s trophies since he left? Ball don’t lie big guy. From 4 natty’s in 15 years to 0 in last 10. 10 frozen four appearances from 1998 to 2012, 2 frozen four appearances in last 10 years. What’s been missing from the dynasty years??? Hmmmm

Why are you so intimidated by this guy? Why does he live in your head rent free? Did something happen? Is it envy? Just a weird obsession?

Looks like Ryan MacP is replacing Winters (injured?), and Conor MacP is replacing Skrastins. Glad that MS7 is not shaking up the other two lines.
