If Adrian Peterson continues to play like this, and the team is as undisciplined and takes as many penalties as they have the last couple games, they are going to lose in their first playoff game.

If Randy Moss continues to play like this, and the team is as undisciplined and takes as many penalties as they have the last couple games, they are going to lose in their first playoff game.

If Cris Carter continues to play like this, and the team is as undisciplined and takes as many penalties as they have the last couple games, they are going to lose in their first playoff game.

If Fran Tarkenton continues to play like this, and the team is as undisciplined and takes as many penalties as they have the last couple games, they are going to lose in their first playoff game.

Just sayin'.

Adrian Peterson = over rated.

Whine Line caller made a good point tonight. Last year, AP was patient, hitting the line of scrimmage after letting the hole develop. This year he looks anxious, hitting the hole before he should.

How many good points is that in the history of the Whine Line?

He's third in the league in rushing with 10 TD's while facing defenses that continue to load the box as long as he's on the field. His fumbles are a problem but overrated?

The lack of consistency and issues protecting the football will hurt against a solid defensive team. He should be going absolutely nuts this season with an actual passing game to support him, but he's having his worst year as a professional. Getting stuffed for no gain or losing yards more than ever before, and doesn't seem to get into the secondary with any regularity.

Right now, I feel more comfortable seeing Taylor in the backfield.

what do you want? They are still stacking 9 in the box, leaving the receivers free to run around and catch passes at will. He still has over 1000 yards with this happening! I don't know what you want from the guy. 2000 yards by now? 3000? 100,000? C'mon Nathan, cut Adrian some slack. You're smarter than this.

Is anyone else concerned with how many times favre has been passing lately, he doesn't need 48 pass attempts against teams like chicago. We should save his arm for the playoffs, we have to great running backs and a serviceable backup in tjax.

I don't know what to think of Peterson. It seems like he's having a terrible year, but he still is putting up decent numbers. I am convinced that teams are still thinking that they have to stop Adrian, and they're basically saying "if the old man beats us, then so be it". When Chester comes in, and they suspect it to be a passing down, and then Chester gets the ball, he can usually pick up a good deal of yards.

He isn't being patient enough and letting the line make a hole for him, he tries to bounce it out every **** play. I think some of it might be him getting frustrated with how his season has gone so far. The defenses are still putting 9 in the box but they have his whole career minus the first few games his rookie year. When Chester comes in he waits for the hole to develop then he bursts through it, and I'm not seeing that from AP mich this year. Maybe defenses have decided to always have a LB shadow him while he is on the field. He is still having an amazing year, but there is just something that feels our of place...

Souhan mentioned on AM1500 this morning he thinks AP has more serious injury issues & they are more serious than the Vkings (surprised?) are divulging. If so the Vikes are idiots for playing him against teams like da bears and even bigger dolts for playing him once the game(s) are out of reach.

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

Actually they aren't putting 9 in the box because if they were then pretty much all of our receivers would be wide open. I know sometimes they are, but look how many times players are double covered. The "9 in the box" excuse doesn't hold water.

I think it has more to do with defenses being more patient with him. It used to be that LBs and DL would try and make a spectacular solo tackle on him behind the line which would of course lead to disaster. Either he would beat them at the point of attack or cut it back and beat the contain on the weak side. Now as soon as he gets the ball half the players attack him at the line and the other half cut off the cut back. They plug everything and as AP slows down to find a hole they swarm. They are just playing contain. Watch when AP is part of a play action play, the entire D bites everytime.

The best runs he has had the last few weeks he just hit the hole and ran, no dancing or cut backs just run straight and go. I think the coaches should be telling him to do that for now because the more he does that the more he opens up the cut back later.

To suggest AP is overrated is one of the more ridiculous things I have read in a while. He has his issues (the fumbling is getting ridiculous) but there aren't many RBs who do what he has done for his career. Unless you think Barry Sanders was overrated in which case at least then you would be consistent.

First of all, Souhan sucks :D

Second, APs injury is an ankle problem...if it was serious he wouldnt be able to run at all and would be limping all the time. Souhan should try watching the games not reading the articles Mark Craig writes and basing opinions on that ;)

I agree and I think it they are morons letting favre have 48 pass attempts in games that are out of reach, we should be more conservative with his arm. We are passing 52% of the time which is nice to see that type of balance for our team but with the leads we have been playing with I wouldn't mind seeing the run % go up a little more. We could get Tjax more touches and Chester more carries in games vs teams like Chicago. Chester had 4 carries and tjax only was in to kneel the ball. Its not like Tjax has played bad when he has come in, and I think chester is too good to only have 67 carries on the year.
