Who said the cooler had to house beer? :p

I bet that cooler can house 3-4 bottles of whiskey. I would think that would suffice. :D

Why would I put whiskey in a cooler? Vodka maybe (especially for Miss Hoven and your skirt drinks) but never whiskey.

Anyways back to the Vikings...

I like my whiskey cold. So why melt the cube faster since the whiskey is warm, and water it down? BOX. :D

And back to the Vikes:

I am thinking that we've seen this game before. It'll be close, but overall, despite what one Mark Chmura has stated (see the GB thread for reference), the Vikes win. Winfield not playing does hurt, but AP is due for a *ing monster game, and not counting Grant's big week last week (since it WAS against CLE), I don't think that running game is there for GB.

A big key is how MN plays D. If they have the lead, do they run the Cover 2/prevent? It has almost cost them two big games this year already, and only by a little luck have they won those. Sooner or later, the football gods will show their vengeance.

Just fill the cooler with ice, so you have those couple cubes to drop in your whiskey, whenever you need them.

First of all...the BOX thing is retarded...I would rather watch those stupid Dos Equis commercials than have some PA or Common wannabe trying to be funny by ripping of their schtick.

Second...you suck at drinking whiskey...I shudder to think what kind of whiskey you drink. Please don't tell me, I dont want to risk you ruining something I actually enjoy by endorsing it :D (especially since I am drinking some now)

Third, I dont need a cooler I have plenty of ice in my freezer, or in the bar wherever I am drinking :D

The Vikes are going to win, but they will fall behind early I think. My guess is an Aaron Rodgers fumble in the third will be the turning point of the game. I think AP goes off as Green Bay does what it can to stop Brett from making them look silly in front of the home fans.

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

My local Old Chicago has the motorized cooler, and it works very well. I checked online for models (and similar) to it, and they run from $300-$800 or so. Not bad at all (for the cheap models). Imagine that at the Final 5!! :D

I find your theory intriguing, I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Some of my favorite whiskeys: Crown, Powers, Maker's, Woodford, Jack, and Feckin'.

As for AP, GB tried to stop AP last time and "make Brett beat them" so to speak. Oops. I am thinking they do the reverse this time, for the most part, and AP will have 150+ yards, although again, MN wins in a close one.

Edit: I do want to try Redbreast, but at $40+ a bottle, that would be a rarity. :(

I see your taste in whiskey sucks as much as your taste in beer and commercials ;) (minus Jack)

I think GB would be foolish to go with the "shut down AP to shut down the Vikes" defense because it hasnt worked all year. They need to blitz early and often and hope to get Brett off balance and throwing wildly. If they lay back in hopes of cutting off AP Brett will pick them apart again like Christmas goose.

I say Vikes by 9...but like I said the Packers will probably lead early and most likely at halftime.

Jack, while good, is overrated. I prefer a cleaner taste (Jack is awful caramelly and sweet, if you can believe it).

And GB would be foolish. See: the first matchup this season. Until MN played prevent, GB was getting whupped.

But, this is a divisional game, and a HUGE rivalry, so you have to toss most trends/stats, as the cliche goes.

I almost sense a low-scoring game, because of both teams "fixing" whatever problems they had on defense in the first matchup. Maybe a 20-17 game or so. I'll toss out an official prediction in the next couple of days, but I see a lot of old-time football here.

Jack is too much like Bourbon...needs a mixer. I drink Irish Whiskey, or Scotch Whiskey...nothing else :)

See I dont think it will be low scoring because I think GB is going to go for broke. The only real success they had was on big plays so I see them throwing deep often. (I also think they max protect so Jared Allen doesnt murder Arodg) It will work at first probably picking on Paymah but as I said in the 3rd quarter I see them giving up a huge sack to Mulletman and the ball coming out.

Couple that with AP getting about 135 yards and 2 scores and I have this roughly 29-20. Not super high scoring but not low scoring either. I will also say that if the Vikes to Rodgers early like they did at the Dome, my prediction will be way off and the Vikes will roll. I don't see that happening though because I think McCarthy realizes that a loss in this game pretty much kills them in terms of the division and would make them look terrible. They will play a lot of two tight ends and hope Jennings and Driver can get open downfield. (Ryan Grant will NOT have a good game no matter what)

I like Scotch.

No, I will not continue into that incredibly tired quote from Anchorman.

Jack....needs a mixer? Now who's the pansy?! :p

Most of the big plays for GB happened later in the game......when MN was playing a relaxed defense. There's the rub.

I think we're both in agreement that it'll be close, it's a matter of the finer details.

If it's half as exciting as the last game, though.....wow. I'll be glad I watched it, no matter the outcome.

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

being that both Favre and Adrian have limited the turnovers this year, I think it'll come down to the Vikings forcing the Packers to turn the ball over. Get to Rodgers, cause him to fumble, and the Vikes can easily roll with this one.

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

Bourbon needs a mixer? Blasphemy!
Bourbon only needs ice.
Scotch & Irish only need a drop or two of water.

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

:D

And Brent I happen to love Guinness and have for 20 years. :)

See? Doosh!

Handy, you're wrong. :p

If the Vikings DON'T get to Rodgers, I'd be worried. That o-line is as sieve-like as Dan Cloutier on a bad day.

There is no such thing as "too much like bourbon". Bourbon isn't too much like bourbon. Bourbon is great: Makers, Woodford, Evan...

Vikes roll, Pack will keep it close, within a TD at half, but the cheeseheads will be filing out of Lambeau early for this one because the Vikes will pull away in the 2nd half. Huge game from Adrian and Favre just does what he needs to, I don't expect Favre to come out throwing all over the place in this one.
