Ultimately this was a good loss. AFC on the road, Super Bowl champs. You don't want that undefeated specter hanging over the team for too long. Now they can win the rest of their games or try too without even thinking about that albatross hanging over their necks.
An albatross was supposed to be good luck until someone killed it.

Just saying...

One thing I noticed yesterday that I'm not sure I've seen in 25 years of watching Vikings' football is that the corners actually played bump-and-run coverage, or at least lined up 2 yards off the ball instead of the usual 12-yd cushion they're (in)famous for. I enjoyed seeing it, and I hope it continues.

Seemed to work for the most part too...Ward (NFL leader in rec) was held in check all day. The only lapses seemed to be when they did go to a zone and Holmes was able to find an opening (then the safeties tackled like 8-yr-old girls).

Overall a good game by the Purple. Bring on the cheeseheads!

It would have been nice if the Vikings wouldn't have completely shut Ward down. I could've won in FF if they let him have a typical day and isn't that what really matters in the end?

I will typically take a Vikings win over a FF win any week...I actually sat Rice & Harvin and still had the highest pt total in our league. Optimal lineup would have included Rice, but I'll take the W (but I would trade it to be 7-0!).

Yeah but when the Vikings lose but still find a way to make me lose, I become angry and bitter.

Gotta love Skip Bayless floating a theory that Dugan ran over the official on purpose because that's the official that called the bogus tripping call.

Jesus, can someone take him out behind the office in Bristol and put a bullet in his head, please?
No one in the sports world ****es me off more than him. If I ever end up physically near him, it is going to take all my will power not to haul off and punch him in the brain.

The only one there with big enough balls to do it was just fired, and I don't mean Steve Phillips.

Ex-Vikings safety Orlando Thomas dies at 37 of ALS

The Minnesota Vikings say former Vikings strong safety Orlando Thomas has died after suffering from Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The team says Thomas died early Wednesday at age 37. He began feeling symptoms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in 2004, and the disease was diagnosed in 2007.

Thomas was a hard hitter whose 22 career interceptions rank seventh in franchise history. He had 32 total takeaways in 98 games, from 1995-2001 after being drafted by the Vikings in the second round out of Southwest Louisiana.

The Vikings plan to honor Thomas with a moment of silence before their next home game, on Nov. 15 against the Detroit Lions.

Ex-Viking safety Orlando Thomas is still fighting ALS

Former Vikings All-Pro safety Orlando Thomas, who has been battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig’s Disease for five years, has not died as has been reported, said his agent, Mark Bartelstein, who spoke to the family this evening.

“It’s not true,” Bartelstein said. “He’s still fighitng as hard as ever. I don’t know anybody to fight a disease or illness the way he has fought this. He’s continuing to fight the fight and is cheering on the Vikings every day.”

The Vikings reported Thomas’ death on their Web site this evening.

“Somebody put it on their Myspace page down in Crowley, La., and I guess the local media ran with it or something,” Bartelstein said. “You know how in today’s world once rumors start, it spreads like wildfire. You know how people communicate nowadays. But it’s totally false. He’s sick, but he’s good and and he’s fighting the battle he fights every day.”

I suppose this just furthers the belief that actually fact-checking is a thing of the past for any of today's media outlets.

If the authorities are going off of MySpace posts and sources, We are all in very big trouble.

In fact, I am going to post that we are all as good as dead on Facebook and watch the world burn. Wish me luck!

So I'm assuming everyone here has seen the bud light tailgate tested tailgate approved commercials right.... well the bud light speaker box isn't a joke I saw one at westside today. The guy said they didn't work very well but I was amazed they actually had them.
