UML Recruiting, 2017+

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

USHL season started up this weekend. Trevor Zins was a -1 in Cedar Rapids OTL to Dubuque. Cale List had an assist for Dubuque in that game.

In the CCHL, Charlie Levesque has a 4-8-12 in 8 games for Hawkesbury (tied for third in the league).

Getting a kid out of Shattuck isn't normally easy unless you're a "name" school. This guy is recruiting really well. If he coaches anything like that, this is the first time I'm going to start really worrying about UMass.

Another Shattuck player heading to Amherst.

UVM picks up two brothers for '19. Orca and Ocean (no, I'm not kidding). Proves that you can continue to haze and kids still want to to play for you.

Croix Evingson commits to Lowell.

'97 Defenseman from Anchorage, Alaska, 6'5 210lb playing for Shreveport in the NAHL. 1 goal 10 assists in 8 games so far.

Been a while since we had a 6'5 d-man. He's from Alaska, and was the NAHL Defenseman of the Month for September.

Thanks for passing this along.

That would put us at 10 d-men for next season (if List, Evingson and Zins all come in), which seems a lot. I'd venture Zins or List (both '98s) could be pushed a year?

I saw this evaluation on Evingson: The Alaska native is huge at 6'5". He has decent mobility and has improved work on his puck handling. He is a project but continues to show the ability to improve. He has a lot of upside and will play for Shreveport in the NAHL this season.

@ChrisDilks: '97 D Croix Evingson is the first Shreveport Mudbug(NAHL) to make a college commitment, picking UMass Lowell.

@ChrisDilks: Evingson is a big defenseman with really nice offensive abilities for his size. A nice pick-up for the River Hawks.

Hopefully the Hawks are in the mix for McLaughlin who's from Billerica. McLaughlin was expected to arrive at St Lawrence for the 2018 season.[/url]

McLaughlin heading to BC.

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

BU becomes the second HE school (not counting departing Notre Dame) to pick up a 2002 born commit. UVM was the first, and that commitment came over a year ago when the kid was 13.

Quinnipiac has two 2002's committed. One from Nova Scotia the other from Connecticut.

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

Any high scoring forwards please come
I really think they have a bit harder time recruiting the "snipers" that we'd like to see because of the system that Bazin employs. As you yourself pointed out this summer, the system seems to work, so it's tough to argue.
