UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Brockville lost in the semis to Vernon last night 2-0. Their season is over, they'll just have to settle for being the third/fourth best team in Canada. :)

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

From the ESPN.com NHL draft blog:

• Here's a list from Bruins 2010 Draft Watch of guys the Boston Bruins could grab in the second round with the No. 32 pick (from Toronto): John McFarland (No. 15 N.A. skater), Ryan Spooner (No. 39), Max Gardiner (No. 49), Julian Melchiori (No. 45), Teemu Pulkkinen (No. 17 international skater) and Justin Shugg (No. 53 N.A. skater).

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

From USHR. Mike Conderman is one of six players already signed by the USHL expansion Muskegon Lumberjacks by coach Kevin Patrick.

-- 5'9", 185 lb. Cushing Academy LC Mike Conderman, a UMass-Lowell recruit for fall '11, put up big numbers for Cushing this past season, posting a 31-41-72 line in 31 games. A Rochester, NY native, Conderman is a 2/26/91 birthdate. "I like his strength over the puck, his ability to make plays, and his compete level."

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

I've heard some rumors that Scott Wilson will be coming in for 2012, not 2011, and that Tyler Brickler is coming in 2011, not 2010.

The USHL futures draft is today, and the USHL draft is tomorrow. I'll be keeping an eye out on Wallin, as well as on Wilson.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

UML recruit for 2011 William Eiserman was just taken in the 4th round of the USHL draft by Tri-City.

BTW, tells you how far back Mass has fallen in hockey that a kid from Texas and a kid from Arizona went in the first round of the draft, but the first Mass kid was a second rounder.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

That is the case because very few mass kids will go there, nothing to do with talent and has always been theb case. Texas and Arizona does not offer alternatives, Mass does.

The issue is that Mass prep/junior hockey is on a slide right now and for the first time in years, a big push to USHL from Mass happened last year. More to follow. If they do go, they better be ready because it only worked out for a handfull of the mass kids last year where some it was a disaster

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Thanks for the info Hokydad.

William's brother, Chris Eiserman (UML recruit for 2012) was taken 7 picks after him, as the second pick of the fifth round by Youngstown.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

that's good for both of them and the program
If they choose to make the move.

As far as I can tell, Wilson and Wallin weren't drafted. I had heard that Wallin would stay local, so that doesn't thoroughly surprise me. Wilson might have just said I'd rather stay near home...

Monty, Do you expect Wallin to play in the EJHL or stay at Gunnery?

From what I've heard, he's a really loyal kid, so I'm not sure. It would be better overall for him to move up in competition, but obviously, up to him.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Article on the Eisermans from the Newburyport News. Bill and Chris will be heading out to the USHL.
That's great for both of them. And a good article to boot. So as of now, all four of the "Man" future committed recruits will be in the USHL next season. Conderman, Saucerman and both Eisermans will be playing Tier 1. Still not sure about Wallin, and apparently Wilson is staying in the OJHL.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

The key to going to USHL is being on ateam where you are top 2 lines, I.e. top 6 F and top 4 D. The 93 golaie will have a tough time at that level but will be ok. The dman will have trouble being top 4 at Tri City, and maybe dressing eevry game. They have Lind from the Steel who they traded for. He was ranked 31st in january by central scouting and has 2 years in league under his belt. He is going to Notre Dame in 2011. He did have a rough last month or so and dropped to around 140 but will be top 2. they also picked up Rall who has a 4/4 at Anchoarge amd has a year under belt. they also have 2 others and a couple returning. Will be interesting to see how it plays out but best of luck to both.
