UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Recruit Will Rayner is done for the season.
Coach Jimmy McGroarty said Friday he has suspended defenseman Will Rayner for the remainder of the season. Rayner is planning to play at Massachusetts-Lowell next season.
Lincoln has four game left and is in last place and will miss the playoffs.

lincoln was a disaster this month. suspended their top scorer, a northeastern-bound kid, for the season a couple weeks ago. rayner had a two-game team suspension around the same time. great stuff.

Rayner's making me nervous...

From USHR: Another recruit for 2011.

Conderman to River Hawks
5'9", 185 lb. Cushing Academy senior forward Mike Conderman has committed to UMass-Lowell.
A 2/26/91 birthdate from Rochester, NY, Conderman was the Penguins' leading scorer this past season with a 31-41-72 line in 31 games.
Conderman will play a year of juniors before joining the River Hawks in the fall of '11.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Great news.

BTW, Conderman, Eiserman and Saucerman for 2011. That amuses me! :D

what are their positions again? Can we get a "man" line or d-pair?

Can we put 4 "man" on ice at some point in the future?

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Julian Melchiori is ranked 45th (domestic skaters) in the NHL's Final Central Scouting numbers, up 16 from the mid-term rankings.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

I believe there is only one recruit still playing.

- Brockville is down 3-1 to Pembroke in the CJHL championship series after losing last night 4-1. Shayne Thompson was back in the line up after missing two games due to injury, he was held scoreless. Game five is tomorrow night.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Have seen him play the last several years he is a very good skater who played a role at Gunnery. Wasn't counted on to score points and don't think he saw much if any time on the PP. I don't know if he is coming in next fall but if he is its a stretch for him to play at this level next fall. Maybe a year or two of juniors and he could step in but not right from Gunnery.
The Heisenberg site has added Rob Badger to the UML section in the Listing by College tab. It looks like he will be coming in next season.

Julian Melchiori and his Newmarket Hurricanes were still playing in the CCHL/OJHL Buckland Cup final but that ended today. Melchiori though didn't play since the first game due to an injury. The Hurricanes blew a 2-1 lead and lost three straight.

Thanks Monty.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Thanks Monty.
Lowell currently has 21 commitments (including TJ Massie) for the next three years. Wow. 14 freshmen coming in this year ... that's not exactly what I'd call evening out the classes. I wonder if Coach MacDonald knows something about Soup/Edwards that we don't?

I was thinking the same thing, or maybe a couple of other players who didn't play very much will not be back. It seemed like they were making some progress on evening out the classes but now it looks like they are starting from scratch again.

Pembroke defeated Brockville last night 5-2 to win their fourth consecutive CJHL championship. Shayne Thompson was held scoreless. Brockville's season is not quite over yet as they will participate in the Fred Page Cup which begins next Wednesday in Brockville.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Not sure if he's related, but there's a Ryan Badger that also played for Team Comcast (as did Rob, and his father's a coach for the U-16 team now). He's a '94, and is on the USHL potential draft list.
