UML offseason looking towards 2010/11 season

Re: UML offseason looking towards 2010/11 season

Maybe they should have given it to Dumoulin (+24) then?
braun was on the ice for 51 of amherst's 117 goals against. dehner on the ice for 26 of 81 lowell's (he missed five games). jeeeeeez which one was better defensively?

See, this is a much better stat to use. It doesn't 'prove' that Dehner is better than Bruan, but it gives a much better context than +/- (which was my complaint).

You got those same numbers for Watson and Holmstrom? Or did you do them by hand for the D-men?

Edit: Brett Watson was on the ice for only 7 even strength goals against UMass this season (out of 82). I can't imagine Holmstrom is much better.

Carter Hutton and Jeremy Dehner were named Hockey East Second-Team All-Stars.

UNH'S Bobby Butler named 2010 Hockey East Player of the Year.

So they could really name those the all stars for the golden 4 teams and the scrub teams instead of the 1st and second teams.

Congrats to Hutts and Jeremy!

This is being discussed in the HE Awards thread, but the fact that Hutton didn't get named to the first team is such a joke that it's actually not funny.

I totally agree. Foster played 9 more games than Hutton but yet Foster's GA was 117 compared to Hutton's 55. Also, Hutton had 4 shutouts and Foster had none. That's terrible not to give it to Hutton.

Barry Goers signed with the Las Vegas Wrangers in the ECHL today.

Weird to see Blaise on NESN, between periods, giving his thoughts about the UVM/BC game.

He's got nothing else to do. :(

Anyway, he probably had one of the better records in HE against those two teams (3-1-2).

I think Blaise McDonald is the best TV guy I've seen on any college hockey telecast all year. He is making Bob Beers and Brendan Walsh look like amateurs. Its obvious why he's a good recruiter. Tremendous hockey knowledge.

Walsh has problems talking let alone saying something that makes sense. Blaise is Blaise.

I saw that Holmstrom was a +2 against Adirondack. Thats good to hear. Any news on Edwards and Denher if they are going to sign with a team or not.

After this year, I think Edwards would be making a huge mistake signing. Just my opinion, though.

his value has probably certainly dropped... if he's injured it'd probably behoove him to come back and gain a more solid reputation.
