I've been accused of being a homer for various teams but never BC before...and yes I should not have said what I said, but it's aggravating to see sites who don't even go to games report Mike Szmatula as a returnee. But you're right, it was poor form on my part.

Yes, the Szmatula part doesn't inspire much in the way of credibility for the site. And I think you do a great job in your reporting FWIW, especially with incoming recruits.

Does anyone know exactly how this poll works,...Is it just coaches from hockey east ? That would suggest 66 pts per coach. Why 66?

It's just the Hockey East coaches. I believe coaches can not vote for their own team.

Will trade a frozen four ticket this year if you can get to Atlanta to take an Engineering Numerical Methods Course for me tomorrow afternoon :p(/joking)

Two first place votes seems high when the one substantial problem for the team last year, goaltending, doesn't seem to have been addresses (not that I believe there is much that could be done). I guess some voters are seeing something I just am not. Don't like being skeptical of the team under any circumstances.

In other news, the school in the western part of the state had 3 players and a former player arrested, according to SBNation (link)

Gallacher, a Florida Panthers prospect, was also found to have a counterfeit $100 bill on his person. It was confiscated for destruction, according to the police report.

Sophomore goaltender Henry Dill was arrested for disorderly conduct for allegedly punching a police cruiser.

Dollar Dills? Oh... I want him to stay in college for that alone. (EDIT: It was Gallacher that was arrested for counterfiet... Dill only punched a car... did he leave the butane at home?)

As for the exam request... yeah, can't make it ;) Does sound curious to me though... I'd probably get my hat handed to me due to lack of familiarity though I'd be optimistic about my chances were I taking the course.

I'd love to know who would have us as #1 to start the season but I often think of the first poll as gift giving season for some of the voters.

The only thing I can think of with Lowell getting such seemingly high preseason rankings is that last year's graduating class was so small that it's being assumed the team will improve due to experience.

Personally I'm more of a "believe it when I see it" type, but I do think the team should be reasonably good this year. Not great, but pretty good.

Season tickets arrived today and the box was sitting at the door to my apartment. Must be hockey season!!!!!!:)

I'm imagining him asking the policeman to turn on the lights and siren (like a four year old child). Then throws a tantrum (like a four year old) when the officer won't do it for him.

In all fairness to him age four is when we start noticing higher cognitive ability. So I've always assumed anyone who chooses to attend UMass Amherst has roughly the cognitive abilities of a small child. I find my assumption is rarely incorrect.
