Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

INCH's Jeff Hose does a Hockey East mid-season review, and has Schaus as part of the Hockey East First Team (mid season edition).

BIGGEST QUESTION ANSWERED
How will Lowell handle its most significant preseason expectations of the decade? Despite a late hiccup (2-4-0 in their last six), the River Hawks have proven they’re worthy of a national tournament bid. They still go through stretches when they struggle to score, but the River Hawks get great defensive efforts on a routine basis, and they’ve got the best goaltending tandem in Hockey East with seniors Carter Hutton and Nevin Hamilton.
Also, Ice is Life blog is updated.

New England Hockey Journal's grades...
UMass-Lowell: B The River Hawks looked almost unbeatable at the start of the year, using the goalie rotation of Nevin Hamilton (Ashland, Mass.) and Carter Hutton to perfection. A little shine came off of their sparkling start with a three-game slump and an ugly loss to Princeton right before the break, but they’re still in contention, and might prove to be the best team in a thick middle pack.

Merry Christmas to everyone. Here's hoping 2010 works well for the UML program.

I think for a team that we believe can/should be in the NCAA Tournament, a nice and easy two win weekend would help a lot for my confidence.

Hopefully they learned something from the first half of the season and come out and play a solid 60 minutes both nights. It's time for the team to develop a killer instinct and take care of business every night.

Do we know for sure what time the game will be Sunday evening? Not looking forward to that long drive back starting around 10pm or so Sunday night. If Dartmouth loses to NU (and if Lowell beats HC), would the championship game be the 4pm game? Please!

According to the Dartmouth website the championship game is 7:00 pm on Sunday night. I agree about the late drive home.

1 am when you have to work the next day is a tad different... I don't know what kind of hours you keep in your profession but if I had to work on 4 hrs of sleep I would be miserable the next day (and forget the gym and stuff like that).
