UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

I love how people go from being ecstatic one day to wanna jump off the University Ave bridge the next day.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Since starting 9-2-1, Lowell is now a rather disappointing 5-8-1. This is the fifth time during that 14 game stretch that Lowell was held to just one goal. Here are the goals scored during those 8 losses: 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1. And the tie in that stretch also saw only 2 goals scored.

From what I heard last night, it was yet another flat start ... the only game of the weekend, how can you come out flat?

Out of the 10 losses on the year, 8 have been one goal losses, the other 2 were by two goals (and one of those was due to an ENG).

having your best player over the last month and arguably the best player in his position in the league go down for three weeks and a loss to an eighth-place team will do that.

Bummer for Dehner. Nothing worst than getting hurt in your senior year when your career is winding down. Hope he recovers quickly as he is a talented kid.

How come this coach has had two years to find a quality defenseman to help pick up the slack, Wasnt it refreshing when dehner and schaus first got here, then edwards came in the next year, Boy if they would have found just one div 1 quality d over the past two years, guess how things would be right now. But one thing either with dehner or not, you dont win many games with only 1 goal.

i think once ickert got his feet under him he played quite well earlier this year, but he too was hurt for last night's game. also, it's not that any of the replacements aren't Division 1-quality, it's that they're not jeremy dehner quality. who is though?

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

We have had a lot of bad boo boos this yr. No one seems to notice because we have fill ins but so far all of the guys below (list may be incomplete) have (or will) missed multiple weeks:
Ferrera (sp)
Goers
Dehner
Ickert
Auger
Caveny

I also think Ickert has played well this season. In all fairness to Corcoran, that was his first game action since the Huntsville series in November. Regardless, the whole team struggled for the first half of the game. NU was flying and Lowell didn't have an answer. Carter really kept them in it.

Once Lowell finally got it going and tied it up I thought they were going to pull out a win. A bad turnover in their own end was the difference. Plenty of chances at the end, It looked like they just missed the wide open top corner a couple of times.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Any word about this friday's 7:30 start? TV? Other event?

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Gotcha... Works for me as I seem to roll out of the gym at work around 6:30 and get home closer to 7:30... I'm not going to complain too much... Better than trying to raise the game feed between subway stops :p

I'm not going to jump off any bridge, but like most, I've been hoping /waiting for this team to go on a roll. They still have home ice and an NCAA bid within reach but with only ten games left in the regular season it's now or never.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out over the next month but one thing is for sure with this team and league, nothing is a sure thing.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

I would like to see a season where we don't get slammed at a bad time with an injury that makes a big difference. Nasty timing.

That is all.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Huge weekend coming up. BU is only 2 points behind Lowell and Merrimack is 9-1-0 at home. Merrimack nearly swept UNH last weekend.

I will be at Tsongas on Friday and will probably make the quick trip to North Andover on Saturday.

The boys really need to start putting the puck in the net or home ice is out of the question.
