UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Kory Falite is eligible for the NCAA Frozen Four Skills Challenge. Voting begins today through February 15. Has a Lowell player ever participated in this before?

nope, it's only a couple years old and lowell hasn't had that kind of outstanding player since it began. think it started when tejchma/hall/pence/fletcher were seniors.

Andrew Martin was going to be in it, I think the first year, but had to pull out cause he tweeked his groin or something.

Isn't bringing something called the Lamoreillo Trophy to Schneider Arena just a **** move at this point?

Well, Hokydope will be there and greeting it with open arms. Right?:p

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Due to road closures for Lowell WinterFest, they wanted to give people extra time to make it to the arena due to traffic.

Ah, so it's not due to television as was previously thought. Is there anything online that shows what roads are closed?

Look at the News tab to see the detour http://www.paultsongasarena.com/

I'm in Stoneham so I will take 93 North to 133 West. When I get to Lowell I take a right (Route 38/110) and go over the river.

Once you get on the other side of the river you can either take a left at the 1st set of lights (Bridge St) or the 3rd set of lights (Aiken St).

If you take Bridge St simply take a right onto French St and the Arena will be a couple of blocks up on the right. If you take the Aiken St bridge I'm sure you will know where you are.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Easier route-
Take 93 to Methuen/Dracut (110/113) at teh end of the ramp you go round the rotary to the left, and take the 110 route after coming out from under 93. Go on 110 and you have a straight shot to the Aiken St bridge and take a left on it.

The rt 38 bridge is under construction and is down to 1 lane each way and on the rotary. On a good day there is traffic. with detours will be miserable.

If you leave via 110 way watch out- as you go under the rotary there is a cruiser that sits there to catch speeders.

On a Saturday that would be good but on a Friday night the extra couple of miles on 93 will be slow, not to mention 110 from Methuen to Lowell.

Why are we giving good directions to a BU fan? :D

On Friday night the back up to go over that Bridge goes back about 1/4 mile on 133 before the light at the 133/38 intersection. The 110 traffic isn't that bad coming into Lowell and the traffic breaks after 495 on 93. Just sayin'

Do you know what players will be signing autographs? I dragged my friend, Justine, to a bunch of games last year and she became a huge Schaus fan.

Fridays ticket has a picture of Nick on it so it would be great to get his autograph on it for her.

I'll take my chances :D . If the traffic is backed up I'll head into downtown Lowell and end up on Prescott St.
