UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

I'm going up with one other person. if I get tickets through UML I'll be sitting with my fellow Lowell fans or I can call Maine and probably get better seats but will be sitting in the middle of other Maine fans.

there probably won't be that many Maine fans there.

I know many of the Maine posters on these boards are down on your team, but I'd figure they'll still come out for the playoffs. I'd be surprised if the place isn't sold for all three possible nights. Of course, I'd like to be one of the 100-200 Lowell fans standing there alone cheering on the sweep late Saturday night. :)

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

I got tickets for Saturday and a possible Sunday game. I hope we sweep and there's only two game though. Where are all the Lowell fans going to be before the game? Pats or the Bear Brew or somewhere else?

I called Maine and got a couple of seats in section EEE (row 7/8) for Friday and Saturday. The tickets are $15.00 each and they charge an additional $6.00 per order. If the Sunday game is necessary the box office will be open after the Saturday game and before the game on Sunday.

It would be nice to sit with the other UML fans, but if I can avoid section II I will.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

There is nothing I want more than a return trip to the Garden in two weeks and to the "rah-rahs" out there, it's a very winnable series.

However, they haven't been able to execute in key times this year and while I hope it starts this weekend more than anyone. I'm perfectly happy with your viewpoints and I wish I had some of it. It's been 14 years since the NCAA and a long time coming. As Monty has said, this would be a perfect opportunity to "leave a legacy", and winning a playoff series in Maine for the first time would do just that.

All I'm asking is let this year's record speak for itself; it's called realism, not pessimism. We will all find out one way or another late Saturday night or Sunday.

Agree 100%. What happened this season and especially what went down on Saturday is in the past.

Off to Orono for two wins right? :)

There's a big difference between Section I and Section II down in the corner. Bucky and I were in II a few weeks ago instead of I, and just moving over that 1 section changes the view completely. For one, you can see the entire ice surface, but you can also see the video board for replays. Yeah, you're still stuck under the bleachers, but I have no problem with the seats we had last time.

That's true Scott, section I is the worst. Any issues with the weather for the upcoming weekend?

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Who's heading up to Orono? It looks like the hotel choices are pretty limited for this weekend.

The hotel situation is pretty bleak at best, Scott and I are staying at the Comfort Inn at the Mall simply because I didn't want to pay the $125/night that the BW was charging. There are a few fleabags motels for much less but after doing research, there's a good reason why they are called fleabags. Unfortunately, the Four Points, Holiday Inn, and another I can't think of were sold out for the weekend.

Something appears to be going on Saturday night. Plenty of rooms for Friday and Sunday night, but nothing for Saturday. We usually stay at the Four Points but I ended up booking a room at The Black Bear Inn & Conference Center this time.

Maybe 2U is playing Orono Saturday night. k:

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Anyone notice that the Boston Herald article on this past weekend's results mentioned every game except the ULowell/Vermont game? No respect...

Try the Fairfield Inn in Bangor, or the Sheraton at Bangor Airport.
