Congrats UMD.
At the party at my house to watch the game tonight, I can tell you that the most enjoyable moment was the disallowed goal by Michigan. Guess why. I had a house full of people here at my house tonight all rooting for UMD and we weren't disappointed.
Thanks to all of you that made our trip to Duluth in March the most enjoyable road trip we've ever taken and doing a great job recommending accommodations and places to eat.
A big shout out, too, to biddco, who is one of the better posters in the forum. The "I just had sex" video was hilarious.
Our new conference is so tough, the 4th place team in it won the title. Not a back-handed compliment. The truth. If North Dakota fan, Denver fan, and, in particular, UNO fan don't feel a little bit better about their seasons tonight, they're nuts.
Looking forward to UMD's First visit to Omaha in over a decade this upcoming season.

Major kudos to Coach Sandelin and all the Bulldogs for a well deserved and long overdue national championship! What a great play by Oleksuk and Schmidt to send the Big Ten packing. Great to have the title back in the WCHA where it belongs. Congrats...and Enjoy!!!

The better team won. I feel oddly like I just watch my cousin beat my brother in tennis--I'm completely behind my brother, but after the disappointment of him losing I'm happy for the cousin.
If my heart was ripped out, at least UMD can keep it close by. I work across from LSC, maybe there?

Hunwick played great again tonight. Take solace in knowing that. He is a fantastic goaltender and was a huge hand in Michigan getting this far.

As a BU fan who saw my team win it like that a couple years ago, I had a nice little flashback and remembered how unbelievably good that feels. Though I am a Michigan fan too, I can definitely say I felt incredibly happy for you guys. I won't even say 'enjoy this' because I know you don't ever need anyone from the outside to tell you that. It's an incredible feeling that will never, ever leave you and welcome to the club.
And for those of you lucky enough to have been there in person to see it, never feel ashamed to say it's the greatest night of your life*, because I know you are probably having as much fun with people you love, just like I was lucky enough too, all night.
*For the childless/unmarried, like me, it may remain so. For the married and parents, it's definitely okay to say, "other than my wedding/birth of my child"...there's nothing I can think of that's more rewarding than seeing the college team you love with all your heart and own in a way you can never own your fandom of a pro team like, win it like that. A truly beautiful thing.

Agreed fully about the last part. I have no kids and am not married yet, and 2002 was my favorite year of sports. The Gophers won the national title and Indiana made it to the championship game in basketball. Definitely one of the best feelings I have ever experienced.
