Umd bulldogs 2010-2011

Re: Umd bulldogs 2010-2011

Nice recovery.

Duluth hit a tough stretch late in the regular season, went 2-4-2 in its final eight regular season games, and finished in fourth place in the final regular season conference standings before the WCHA playoffs began. There were some anxious moments after losing to Bemidji State in overtime in WCHA Final Five and before the NCAA tournament field was named. However, when the games mattered most--in the Frozen Four--the Bulldogs beat Michigan and Notre Dame, the teams which finished first and second respectively in the CCHA regular season final standings.

Nice recovery in the NCAA tournament by the Duluth coaching staff and players to reverse some late season difficulties. Duluth's NCAA tournament play showed the depth and talent of the WCHA. Job well done gentlemen.

Congratulations to the Bulldogs and all their fans! A very well coached and talented team. So much for the theory about bad goaltending.. A great game to watch and a fabulous way to win your 1st NC.

Congrats to all tUMDers!

Went to the game, but left after the 2nd, because I had a friend who didn't have a ticket and was alone at Reid's. So I joined him. When tUMD scored the winning goal.....man, the explosion of cheers and seeing the reaction of all the Bulldog fans gave me goosebumps. Strangers and friends high-fiving, hugging, running around in hysteria...it was beautiful.

Welcome to the Big Boy's Club! :D

Thank you. Well done. I know why you would cheer against us. :D You're gonna get so much ****!
Can you keep the anti-St. Cloud vitriol to a minimum when I'm around? I DO have UMD season tickets after all! ;)...and most non-USCHO poster St. Cloud fans that I know were rooting for the Dogs. I still have butterflies!

Congrats to Coach Sandelin and the Bulldogs. Here's hoping Penn State can schedule a trip to Duluth in the next few years.

Congratulations, UMD. As Red said, the better team won. Heck of a game, and some great hustle in overtime!!

Let it sink in.

UMD team on hand at Target Field to throw out today's first pitch - and the team gives the honor of the actual pitch to their equipment manager, who is a recent cancer survivor (IIRC).

Two thumbs up all around.

I thought it was Hoagy, the assistant equipment manager.

Re: Umd bulldogs 2010-2011

I owe you guys. Y'all saved me from a pretty unbearable amount of **** talking from legions of new, infuriating Michigan hockey fans.

But you guys will be feeling this one for years. MSU's 2007 NC still leaves me smiling when i remember it. The torture of sitting through the game itself, only to have everything work out gloriously in the end makes it even better.

And that was a pretty sweet celly. The whole sliding snow angel thing and all.
