Re: UMD 2010-11 Season
Mariia Posa (Finland), Jessica Wong (Canada) and Jenny Harss (Germany) are all playing overseas for their respective countries this week in the MLP Cup.
Apparently the UMD information person doesn't see this as something to write about even though schools like Cornell, Mercyhusts, OSU, UW and more have written about it weeks ago. 5 National Championships and we can't get support from the school itself internally. Nice.
Canada beat Switzerland today 5-0 and our girl Wong, was there with an assist! Definitely some names on the ice that are normally rivals such as Spooner, McIntosh, Bram, etc! A keen reminder that we some of us try to stab each others eyes out in our fanaticism, we forget that our opposing teams have players that are teammates outside the University walls.
My translator tells me that Finland beat Sweden-- maybe in overtime. Trying to see if Posa had some action but I cannot tell. She's a defenseman so maybe we won't see her name in lights even though she is still working.
Germany plays tomorrow- we'll see if Jenny is in goal.
