Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Got a free ticket from a voucher luckily im going alone tommorow. Hopefully ill be able to snag a seat up
Well, not to discount the news on ticket availability, we had similar news for the TV game and there were plenty of seats available the day of.

That being said, still probably not wise to wait.

Connor tonight Doug tomorrow?

Connor played well against NU when he faced them last.
Put Doug back in front of the home crowd on Saturday.

Thoughts?

Where's Hellebuyck tonight? Is he sick?

Ok I'll take a stab at this and I hope I'm wrong. He wasn't at the BU game either and someone had said he may be sick. However is it coincidental that second semester has started and all of a sudden he's not dressed? I have no information to back it up but could there be an academic eligibility issue at play here? Hope not and he's just sucking down chicken soup and all snug under the covers getting better. Or maybe an injury of some sort.

If anyone is in the know, it would be great to see where he's at.

He's just sick, nothing sinister going on.

Ryan McGrath didn't play tonight. Hopefully he's not sick or injured.

The game takeaway from CHN.

In addition to Hellebuyck, Lowell was without freshman forward Ryan McGrath, who is tied for sixth on the team in points. Bazin said after the game that both Hellebuyck and McGrath are day-to-day with injuries, but he wouldn’t specify what the injuries are.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Being able to come back from two goals with 18:30 left to go in regulation on the road and preserving a point is not the way one would like to do it, but I'll take it. This tie went a long way in preserving a decent chance for the River Hawks to slip into a spot and seemingly saved our PWR.

How many of your would have thought that UNH would be in home-ice jeopardy after their torrid start. With Merrimack and PC wins tomorrow night, UNH would have fallen from a seemingly secure second place to out of the home-ice ranking and starting February in fifth.

Pure and simple, win tomorrow night and that NESN game is going to be one interesting contest at Merrimack next Friday.

They need to come out firing on all cylinders tonight. The place will be full and with this pregame light thing perhaps even more full at the start of the game then usual. Likely will be mostly Lowell fans as I don't see Northeastern filling more then their visitor section, after only filling a portion of their home ice yesterday.

Hopefully the pink ice wont throw the balance of the game off at all. A win tonight would put an important season series into our favor.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Not happy with the tie but I can't fault the effort after coming back from 2 down in the 3rd. The big question is what is wrong with Doug Carr? He gave up a couple of soft goals last night and Norm did the right thing by yanking him. I'm not going to lie, I completely forgot that Robbins was still on the team!

I'm looking forward to tonight's game. Hoping for 5000+ in the building and, of course, a Lowell win.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Was a strange game last night. No shots by either team, for over 7 minutes. Don't remember that happening in a while.

Game thoughts:
How Pendenza missed an open net is astounding.
The amount of juicy rebounds that Mountain gave up ... and it took forever to finally finish one of those.
Ruhwedel's shot was great, but wow, Mountain ... wake up (not that I minded).
The first goal for NU was when our defense just fell asleep. So was their third.
Roy is good. That snipe on NU's second goal was sick. Perfect spot, nothing Carr could do about it.
Great to see Robbins get a chance, just great for the young man. I'm happy for him, he gave up a softie, but then bailed his team out and gave them a chance.
Nice job by Lowell to fight back, well deserved point.
Shocked at the lack of people at NU. Maybe the student section had 300? Maybe?

Need two points tonight though.
