UMaine Offseason...Belly Up to the Barr Boys

I bet Nadeau's at least start the season together. They've played on the same line at every stop so far and I see no reason to believe that will come to an end in Orono.

I think Houle is a good 3rd liner. Trudeau is going to be a lot better than last year. We will see who worked hard in off season.

Agreed.

Houle is a nice player that has a little speed, seems to work hard, and has a hard shot but he doesn’t really create much. I think he got all that time on the first line his second year because there was flat out no one else to play.

Trudeau I thought had a little bit of an underwhelming first year(3G, 5A) considering there were BDN articles about his scoring ability. I wasn’t expecting a 20 goal season out of him the first year but something seemed off like he was either injured, overwhelmed, not jiving with the team, or something. He didn’t play in 8 of their games and I wondered if he was hurt or benched. In his one BCHL year before Maine he had a monster first half and then an average at best second half and I wondered if he had gotten hurt midway through the season and the injury carried with him his first year at Maine.

I don’t know if Trudeau was necessarily underwhelming, he definitely showed flashes of what he’s capable of. I expect him to take a big step this year. I think his skating needed some work last year but a full off-season should help with that. I know he was injured to start the year but seemed like he may have been injured again midway through. Hard to settle into a new level when you’re in and out with injuries. Still have super high hopes for him.

Does anyone know how season ticket sales are going? Seems like there is quite a bit of buzz for this team and season.

From talking to the ticket office. Sales have gone very well in season tickets/half tickets on Fri.-Sat...and flex 5 game plans....should be a solid attendance for most games.

When I look on the website it still looks like there are quite a few seats available. My guess is it’s better than the recent past but nowhere close to where it was back in the day. It seemed like Saturday’s were a lot more packed than Friday’s last season.

They'll be fine in attendence...and if they win home and away they will pack the building...this team/Coach has the fans attention.

The new scoreboard is huge and looks great! The ribbon board by the students looks good too as well as the new scoreboard above club level. Not to mention the sound system is fully replaced with 60 new speakers! I think this will really help the Alfond be more modern and provide a much better atmosphere, like an announcer you can understand over the PA, lol!

That's a plus and great news....

Wouldn't count on PA being better, haven't they upgraded the system many times in past and it still sucked.?

Well let's HOPE for the best, this time around maybe they hit a home run....would certainly be a plus and add to the arena. Think positive this time.

yup. every time they did it just got louder but still muffled.
hope they dont go the route of just playing lots of really loud music. rather listen to the band

I'm hoping the music is just before the game like it is now, and mixed in, and the band the rest of the way.

I winced when I saw the ribbon in front of the student section. Hopefully it is a good change but I always found the old fashioned signs very quaint.

I think the money would have been better spent on the player facilities but hopefully it makes for a better atmosphere.

Same here, not a fan of the music. There is nothing worse than that opening video package and the band starting halfway through it where it all sounds like a jumbled mess.

Hopefully the band is back in their regular spot this season.
