UMaine Hockey 23 - 24: The Barr Crawl to Glory!!!

Sucks that the two nicest goals Maine scored tonight the refs disallowed.

Need to get other lines going in the third and don’t let RPI have the puck all alone in front of the net.

I thought RPI looked good early . Maine found or made some open ice with their speed. Pretty much dominated the puck for 55 minutes. I don’t know how good RPI is supposed to be? Funny Barr didn’t play another goalie against uhn but did tonight. So far so good.

Maine is going to have an opportunity to make some serious waves in the college hockey world over the next month. First they have to take care of business tomorrow night.....then @ #5, @ #15, #4 and @#1 on 4 consecutive weekends....mercy.

My thoughts:

This was a good win. RPI might not be the greatest team in the world but you can only beat whoever you are playing that night. I’m not sure we’ll find out a lot about Maine until the Merrimack series.

The NB line is almost certainly the best line Maine has had since Flynn-Abbott-Diamond. It will be interesting if teams are able to slow them down at all once there is some tape of them out there. I do expect they’ll get roughed up a lot.

I’m very pleased with Josh Nadeau. He def can hang at the college level and should be a strong contributor for four years.

Anyone know about the new goalie? Typically teams dress three goalies at home. Hopefully it’s just a minor injury or something like that.

Maine is going to have to do a lot better in their own zone. Fortunately RPI didn’t have a ton of possession but they generated at least half a dozen great chances from what little possession they did have.

Hopefully Maine can complete the sweep tomorrow.

Ostman played the entire game tonight.

I actually kind of agree with Drew for once I think that set against MC is going to be a critical eatly measuring stick for Maine.

As I said before, I think my baseline for being satisfied with the next four series is a maximum of four losses. I think you need a minimum of three wins and a tie in order to be happy with how it went, at least in my opinion.
