UM @ SCSU: Everything this series should be

Re: UM @ SCSU: Everything this series should be

Arguably the biggest series of the year for both teams and the topic of discussion is the player's hair length and color.

Super!

You must have missed burrowing and burritos.

And what did you expect? Insight and analysis? Mick Hatten and Roman don't even provide that, why would we?

Roman sucks at what he does, but the guy doesn't act like a bickering 15 year old girl. Yes, hockey talk would be nice. Perhaps I am expecting a maturity level some of those here are incapable of.

It's Wednesday. Hockey talk was Monday. Feels like déjà-vu from yesterday though with the discussion on maturity.

I am going to stick up for Mick. I think he has improved a lot from last year and has done a great job this season. Maybe that is because we are winning. He does get more into insight and analysis during his weekly chats.

Re: UM @ SCSU: Everything this series should be

Wow!!! I actually worked ahead at my job so I could read each and every of the 427 posts on this thread. Only thing I gathered was that many people in the world have lots of free time and that I can still read. I was cool with all the analysis, the jabs, the bickering and the rest of what I assume is a yearly tradition of posting excellence when the Gophers and Huskies hook up. Then the hair thing had to be brought up. I know everyone basically knows that they are doing it for the "Locks of Love" for those battling cancer. But I was at the Cathedral/Princeton game last night and got to meet the 9 year old daughter of one of the people at the game that I was working with. She is starting her second battle with Luekemia. Had it, had it go into remission, and now it's back. She was the neatest, bravest little girl I may have ever met. Smiling and openly talking about chemotherapy and blood and marrow transplants in a casual and fearless manner. We all deal with things. Sorry to bring something so somber to the discussion, but with almost everything being fair game to me when it comes to poking fun and having fun, maybe we can go back to Superman, burrito's, and why each team will win and drop the hair issue. This has been an alert from the emergency humanity system. Please carry on and on and on and on....

I wonder what percentage of posts on this thread are nothing more than commentary about the quality of posts on this thread?

If you truly read all the posts, kindly point out where anyone comes close to smack talking hair (aside from the shot about Gophers bleaching their hair). I said "they ALL have long hair". Cancer sucks and I agree Locks of Love is a good cause, I think you're being way too sensitive.

Are we already to the point of counting posts? That shouldn't happen this early. Sad. At least pick up the smack talk.

Does anyone know if they will be handing out batteries at the door or is it BYOB?
Is there a minimum mullet length to be allowed in the door this weekend?
I heard that St Cloud is a team of paper tigers taking their last shot at glory.
I heard that St Cloud was introducing a new nacho next year called "Bottom Feeder NaCHCos" and they will be no good and served in a mini concrete trailer.

I like Mick's work. There is no defending Roman. I don't think even he wants himself covering Gopher hockey.

Re: UM @ SCSU: Everything this series should be

Just listened to the podcast of Nanne on Barreiro yesterday. They talked about this series for about 30 seconds. Lou basically sang Motzko's praises and said it was going to be a tough weekend for the Gophers because St. Cloud is playing as well as anybody. It was a shorter version of his usual weekly segment, but they don't talk a whole lot about the Gophers other weeks either. I understand the Wild are the bigger deal in town, but I don't think 5-8 minutes of college hockey talk per week out of the 30-40 Nanne is on is too much.

Agreed. I am pretty sure Nanne would be delighted to talk college hockey for as long as you (or I ) would listen. The problem is Barriero. He barely knows what hockey is and the only reason they talk about it at all is because of the Wild being on the Fan now. Pathetic, but true...

Mick has been pretty good this year. He took a lot of flak last year, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that KA had covered Husky hockey for the entire D-I era and he was superb at what he did.
