If the Gophers don't win it, then I'd like to see SCSU take it.
Having said that, I don't think I'd be taking a series at the Kohl that lightly due to a softie against BSU. Bucky was 2-7-5 in its first fourteen...and is 10-2-2 in its last (which includes a trip to UND).

I think MN wins it by a point. Sweeps on the road are hard to come by in the WCHA, especially in the second half. It usually only happens when one team is far and away superior to the other (see, MN v. Bemidji). MN really only has 3 road games left, and two are against BSU. SCSU goes 4-2 and MN goes 7-1, or maybe even 7-0-1, to squeak it out.

I'd like the cup, but more importantly want to seem them finish the regular season and WCHA playoffs playing solid and consistent hockey. If they do that but manage to [not] win the MacNaughton I'll still feel very good about their chances going into the NCAAs. If SCSU wins it I think it would be great for their program and better them if not UM.

Good luck the rest of the way SCSU. You have a very good team and a winnable schedule. I have a feeling that the Gophers would need to cheer for Wisconsin in the final series to get the cup from you. I refuse to do that (at least right now...).

Same here. Still like our team heading into the playoffs, but we need the banner. Lot of empty space in the NHC rafters. Not only that but the top two seeds only need to win two games to win the Broadmoor, so winning the conference has two benefits.

It was a good weekend with some great hockey! That was a lot of fun.
The shot by Brodzinski between the D's legs was a laser. Warnings jump in the air and almost one timing the puck between his legs was incredible.

Bucky is no push over. UW is playing pretty good hocky right now. SCSU may have a lucky break though. Due to a scheduling conflict, the series is not played at the Kohl Center. It will be played at Veteran's Arena. It might comparable to SCSU hosting a series at the MAC in St. Cloud. Not quite the same home ice feel.
Regardless, This is SCSU's best chance to with the cup. Hope they bring their A game and take advantage of the opportunity.

Holy crap, did they get pushed out by girl's high school bouncy ball again? Hockey back at the Dane?! Better hope the old school Bucky fans don't show up and bring back the atmosphere that place used to have! Weird too that both teams who play on bigger sheets will be playing on the NHL size sheet this time.

The Old Dane used to be something like 200X97, or thereabouts. Did they change the ice surface after the Hockey team left?

Looks like they'll have the Coliseum set up for hockey a couple of weeks in a row. The WIAA HS tournament starts on 2/28, the Huskies/Badgers series ends 3/9.
I used to love looking for these weird events in the cities, as it usually meant cheap ice in a HUGE arena! I got to skate for free at the Xcel before the NHL All-Star game and once had to turn down a chance to skate at the Target Center.
Looks like they'll have the Coliseum set up for hockey a couple of weeks in a row. The WIAA HS tournament starts on 2/28, the Huskies/Badgers series ends 3/9.
