Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

He was hilarious. "And sooooooooooo ... Anchoragejjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj ... gets the puck in the Charger zoneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" ... meanwhile the play has been in the UAA end for ELEVENTY-TWO seconds. And then with the .... "Wooooooooooooooo, that was close" .... calling a hockey game with a southern drawl is a bit of a disadvantage to begin with if you ask me.

It is a disadvantage. I have to remind myself that speeding up is okay. But Davis is an inexcusable clown.

Swept y'all! ;)

Yes you did. Congrats. The Chargers wanted it more, plain and simple. Did UAA win a faceoff all night long? The Wolves really need to do some soul searching, cause this isn't gonna cut it.

I really didn't get a chance to watch the game. The first was over when I finally got stopped in North Carolina, and then I missed both UAH goals. Alas. Sorry that you had to watch your team play poorly on a non-HD broadcast with a terrible broadcaster watching two teams in low-contrast jerseys. Eccch.

Any word from Kurt as to why the kid got his debut in net?

I did have a harder time with the Chargers jerseys tonight. What was up with those?

I assume you are talking about D'Amico? If so, coach said he had been the best goalie for a while in practice and it was time to give him a shot.

They're our alternate grays. They're OK (I actually like them better than our home whites simply because they have more blue than black), but from a distance on a non-HD stream, they're just about impossible to read.

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

This team needs a turnaround quick. It's the same story, decent defense but no offense. I hope the hole isn't too deep right now.

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Not a good weekend for us Seawolves.
Come on home guys and we'll have a better result next weekend.

If UAA had brought those fantastic yellow jerseys, that would've looked fantastic.

Glad to see the kid get the start then, Suze.

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Who was the last team who spent more than a week in Alaska? Mankato maybe? I think it worked to their advantage, UAA had just come back from a road trip, while their opponent had been here for a week and was well rested. I hope this isn't the case this weekend against Ferris. Wish the first game wasn't as early as Thursday!

That's somewhat unfair scheduling from the league. I'm sure that the reasons for it are the following:

1. You can do the travel penalty to UAA because you can let them take as much time as they want early.

2. Ferris doesn't start classes until next Monday, Jan 12th. If you let them play on Thursday-Friday, they can have Saturday to travel back to Michigan and Sunday to recover before classes start (and mainly keeping that buffer day so they're very unlikely to miss classes due to weather).

It stinks for the Seawolves, though. I looked to see if there was something like an overnight from ATL to SEA that would leave around 11p or so that you might could make if you played a 3pm Saturday game, but there's not. I'm guessing that UAA packed the bus before the game, left from the rink, drove to ATL, and flew out first thing.

Thanks, and you're right, it stinks for the Seawolves. Good thing they are young and rebound quickly, eh?

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Okay Seawolves! Let's treat the fans to a win tomorrow night, ok? Ferris is not an unbeatable team, come out and set the tone for the game like you did tonight, and then maintain that for three periods! Make the most of your shot-portunities! Go Seawolves!!

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Saw Connor Wright for the first time tonight. From his play I think we will see more of him going forward.

He did ok for his first collegiate game. I don't think he played once last season, did he? I thought there were a few guys who really busted their butts tonight, I hope we see the whole team do that tonight.

This season is disappointing after last years success, but I am confident that the coach and staff can build a winning team. The same thing happened after Hill's first successful season, and even with Pearson at Tech. He had an awesome first season and the second was horrible. But look at where they are now! Don't give up UAA fans, there are exciting things ahead!
