Isn't Dumoulin from Maine? Seeing him leave the state for BC is more proof than anything of Maine's fall from grace. Isn't it?

Don't forget Billett...

Last night was pay back for what Maine did to BC at the Alfond this past January. Maine defeated BC 4-1 and Muse was pulled in favor of Milner. Kreider admitted tripping Abbott on the turnover leading to a BC goal last night. Kreider says, " I was waiting for the whistle". At least it gives Abbott a little redemption.

Unfortunately, TIMMAY's teams have had a history of talking a good game in the press, and then not having it show up on the ice. For the time being, I'm living in Missouri:

Show Me!!!!

Ahhh, so prophetic.

Posted this on the scores update thread last night. Still apropos.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo

Goaltending still bad.

Defense still porous

Special teams not good

Still can't beat the big three.

Still can't win on the road.

TIMMAY still coach

Nothing's changed.

Recruiting is the life blood of college sports programs and it hasn't been good.

KIA hit the nail on the head in the scores thread:
"how good did people think a team of 2 guys from the USHL and a bunch of Manchester Junior Monarchs was gonna be?"

BTW, where is that moron Big Papa?

You need to ask? Look in the mirror.

Congratulations to Joe Carr in his new career at Providence College. Joe leaves in December, so their will be a new host for the Monday night radio show. It's been great listening and seeing Joe over the years broadcasting UMaine hockey. I trust that he will remain loyal to UMaine sports.;)

Yes.

That being said.......Southern Mainers are in love with schools to the South like BC and UNH. South of Portland really isn't "Maine", more like metro Boston........and many look at BC as THE place to go to school.

"Payback"???? More like a vastly superior team just getting another notch in their belt.......Maine fans are the only ones that treat this like a big game.

Lets be honest here, I don't care if you grew up in Orono or Osaka, if both Maine and BC are offering you a full ride, 99.9 times out of a hundred you're going to BC. That may not have been the case back in Walsh's heyday, but it certainly is now with what TIMMAY has done to the program.

Dumoulin is from Biddeford, which is part of the area that real Mainers call "Massachusetts North"

In the days of Walsh at Maine, when a recruit came to Maine or was at his home...he was told that when you came to Maine you played for Championships...this is what is happening at BC and with York at the helm. Winning Programs/Teams and Top Notch Coaching is what a Recruit is looking for. And IF you think thats being considered with Whitehead at Maine, your fooling yourself big time.

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

How the hell did whitehead ever recruit nyquist???

There's some talent like abbott, flynn, diamond and o'neill, but wow, can't believe your goaltending.
Outside of the first line the cupboard is completely empty and will continue to be until Whitehead is gone. The most telling sign that there is no talent being recruited any more other than seeing it first hand on the ice is that the FR and SO have played a combined 41 games and have a grand total of 3 points and Swavely has all 3 points....pathetic.

You don't need to go to Boston College to understand that 18 scholarships between 23/24 players does not not always equate to a full ride. Then you can add in goalies that always get...good luck to the others.

Oh there is lots of talent, my friend. It needs to be cultivated, recognized and encouraged
