Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Don't call Rachel "girl" or you'll surely be labeled a hegemony supporting misogynist. :D

That's the thing you folks have never gotten. We all still call each other all the fun, flirty names, all the time. It's you grossies who aren't allowed to anymore.

Sex talk at work. It's for him. Not him.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Is that why some rappers can still use the "N" word?

Rappers and their friends can "N-gga" because white people held black people as slaves for 200 years and then as all-but-slaves for another 100. So if you wanna pay your dues and go through all that then in 2317 we'll let you use "N-gga."

Until then, see figure 1.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

I wouldn't be adverse, but I was wondering if they're winding down with the difficulty of scheduling everyone. Cumberbatch is everywhere and Martin Freeman has done a fair bit of work as well. Mark Gatiss has just taken a new role in a Tom Hardy series. Moffat has Doctor Who. I found the last episode immensely enjoyable, I look forward to your review. I thought the acting was fantastic and the bulk of the story was great.

I enjoyed it and it made for a solid end - either for a season or for the series should that be the last. I didn't like it quite as much E1 and E2, but I have no real complaints. I thought a few characters were taken out of their element and I didn't really care for the scene with Molly, but loved seeing more character development for Sherlock and Mycroft, I thought they really gave Mrs. Hudson some great screen time this season, and I loved that (imho anyway) the show made fun of itself and/or the genre when Sherlock was flabbergasted that Moriarty and Euros were able to plan the whole scheme in a single five-minute encounter.

As for their moving to the big screen I would say it won't happen as the creators have said if the stars align schedule wise they will do a Season 5. I wouldn't be surprised if they already knew which stories they want to adapt next.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

The Young Pope is... well, I'm starting to question if it's great or just too "art filmy" for me. His character is just getting a little grating.

I need some more substance. I need some more kangaroo.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

he's doing pretty well considering... lots of Star Wars Lego and books to pass the time at home. He is bummed about missing the rest of ski season though.

first broken bone, ambulance ride, hospital stay, and surgery... another surgery in 8-12 months to take out the hardware. he has been a trooper about the whole thing

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

I have started E1 of Young Pope 3 or 4 times now and for whatever reason haven't been excited enough to get through it yet. I also made it to the start of E2 of The Good Place and stopped there.

Good news for me anyway is that S2 E1 & E2 of The Path (Hulu) with Aaron Paula are now available.

Also I saw that Workaholics is into S7 which is amazing since it's terrible.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Was not expecting Riverdale to actually be the Archie comics' Riverdale. Crossed with Twin Peaks and steeped in a healthy dose of CW teen romance.

Thinking I will not stick with this.

I just saw some headline on one of the less news-based news sites that had something to do about the show's Jughead. It didn't look that intriguing.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

The ads had it looking like some murder mystery/spooky town setting like Happy Town or even Broadchurch/Gracepoint. I'm a sucker for dark and moody so I figured I'd check it out.

Was not expecting Archie Comics with angst.

Luke Perry and Madchen Amick must really need a paycheck.

Enough eye candy to make me give it at least one more episode.

Oh, I will. CW does only one thing, but it knows how to do it. This is now their fifth or sixth reboot of exactly the same show: Angel, Vampire Diaries, Riverdale. The details are completely fungible, the shows are about hot 30-year olds pretending to be in HS, boning, and having whatever the au current emotional trauma are that appeal to tweens.

Bring it on.

BTW, Cheryl Blossom is apparently a canon character, not a creation of the show. Casting was right on. I'll be in my bunk.

Surprised they haven't picked up Degrassi. Although they had a couple of actresses on their shows.
