Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Nonsense. You know your crush is also 46, right?

It's just NBC replacing an unpopular black female, with a popular white, blonde, bimbo. It's the reality of the modern TV news.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Yes. Last season. Sasha Alexander. Been waiting for that for a long time.

And also, a "mature" Sherilyn Fenn.

I was so excited when I saw this comment about Sasha but by the time I had gotten to those episodes I had forgotten. They did not disappoint.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Finished.

Daredevil Season 1
Daredevil Season 2
Jessica Jones

Working on:

Luke Cage

Episodes 1-4 of Luke Cage have been the best so far. Jessica Jones was very good but like Daredevil I had some issues with it overall. I've heard Luke Cage is going to disappoint me and episode 4 is the high water mark. We'll see.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Do any of you guys have AppleTV? I have one. Don't use it that often. For some reason it's not working. I'm getting a No Signal message. I take the TV remote, hit Source, select DVD (I use the same HDMI cable for both my DVD player and my AppleTV). The AppleTV box's light is on, so I'm assuming it's working. Any ideas how to trouble shoot? I unplugged the HDMI cable from the back of the TV and replugged it in. Wondering if I should unplug the power?

Z: The Beginning of Everything

It's the story of how Zelda Fitzgerald met and married F. Scott Fitzgerald, and then her influence upon his writing. It's much more compelling than my quick summary. It's on Amazon Prime.

I have never had that issue. However, are you getting that error message from your TV set or your Apple TV device? If it's the Apple TV giving you that message, it likely isn't making a connection with your LAN. If it's coming from your TV set, then you have a couple issues most likely. 1) The HDMI connection is bad. 2) The device isn't sending a signal at all. 3) You have the wrong input source selected.

I do. First try St. Clown's suggestions -- that will handle it if it's the connection.

If not, I have noticed the little receiver sometimes gets too hot and starts to misbehave. Cycle the power on everything, starting first with the TV itself and then the AppleTV unit.

Make sure the receiver properly vents -- the default configuration actually blocks the vent which is all sorts of stupid. I put mine up on a couple of ice cream sticks. :) And consider unplugging it once a week when you're at work just to let the innards cool down.

Anyway, once I did all those things mine now behaves much better.

Finished Luke Cage. I like it the best of the Netflix Marvel TV. Very well written. Unfortunately for this one they went with the "There's going to be another season" angle so the ending is disappointing IMO. Jessica Jones had the most satisfying ending of the set.

Iron Fist releases on Netflix March 17th.

Thanks guys. Apparently it was a loose connection. I unplugged the power source, unplugged the HDMI cable, waited 30 seconds, replugged everything in and it worked - yay!

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

I don't watch the television news shows in the morning. Does anyone know if John Oliver's commercials ran?

I thought the Jessica ending was anti-climatic. All that buildup and the *poof* ok we're done here. Wish it were a little more intense.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

So I guess FOX is going to try to do Gordon Ramsay's F Word...

Why do I get the feeling they're going to completely bung it up and make it about nothing but Gordon shouting? Looked what they did to Kitchen Nightmares...
