Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

I looked on Monday, couldn't find it. Spent about 20 minutes looking through the non-alphabetical list of shows they have and never saw it.

my channel guide lists two channel 136 with one being for FX VOD stuff and The Americans is there...

It's like that for FX, Comedy Central and a couple other channels.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

FX is a stickler for OD shows. I think even the first day after showing, they have ads that you can't FF through. To have ad-free, you have to wait a couple days.

Huh, I have that too, didn't know to go there. I was looking in the menus that come up when I hit the On Demand button on the remote.

That's pretty much everything now...I watch most shows through On Demand, and can't fast forward through commercials for any of them.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

I hope it finds an audience.

It's obviously an HBO or Comedy Central product so I don't know why a network picked it up. Unless they've decided to pack it in and go highbrow. Which would just be asking for a kick in the nuts from P. T. Barnum.

I'm not sure that's true. The developers of the show are the same people that did The Good Wife.

I think it would be awful on CC. It needs a balance of intelligence, comedy, and drama. CC doesn't lend itself to the drama (or intelligence typically).

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

If I didn't see it live back in the day, I might give it a shot. Still tired of all the coverage of the case. That being said, who knows? Maybe one Sunday afternoon or two, when it hits Netflix, I'll check it out.

It was AC's birthday yesterday.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

We have On Demand. The Americans isn't available on it. Guessing FX doesn't make it available.

Apparently, mine didn't record it either. My provider Time Warner has a bunch of On Demand channels listed up above the pay channels, like Primetime on Demand, Music on Demand, etc. FX is available on a channel called Entertainment on Demand. Maybe you have something similar.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

I don't know what that is.

Roku is like Amazon Fire. Both are great for cordcutters like me. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon plus ABC, NBC, Fox, FX, ESPN and about 2500 other channels. I get radio from all over the world, live sports and lots of other stuff. By switching to another internet provider, going to a cell phone, doing over-the-air for broadcast networks and using my Roku I have cut my monthly bill by more than half.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Started up the final season of The League, with very low expectations (from what I've heard here and elsewhere). There are some really funny moments, but you can tell it has gone downhill since about mid-series.

Wow, the last 3 eps of the series really crapped the bed. Holy hell was that bad.

The first half of the season was pretty good, the next couple eps started to slip, and then ugh.

It's like eating really good Mexican food. At first it's bliss, then you have some queasiness, then it's YOBOGOYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
