Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Yeah. They took WAAAAAAY too long to tie up that loose end. I really liked the first few episodes, with Gemma's father and whatnot. But why oh why did it take them 7 episodes of a 13 episode season to get to Ireland?
I've never seen the show before, but it seems to me they'd have to take a pretty roundabout way to ride a motorcycle to Ireland.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I thought Community was awesome tonight.

I enjoyed it. The last three have been good. My faith has been restored. Hopefully they can find a way to keep it going in season three. I'm looking forward to the christmas episode when it comes because last year's christmas episode by far one of the best episodes of television I've seen.

I was busting up during the previews for it. I have high hopes too. I do like that Pierce in claymation is still in the wheelchair. I also like that despite having 2 fully functional arms he still uses that mouth control for the wheelchair. Further, I also like that they take risks with some of the holiday themed episodes. Just havent always hit the mark (this years halloween episode). Last years christmas episode and the paintball episode are amazingly funny.

agreed.

The Abed Jesus, Halloween, and trampoline episodes this year have IMHO been god awful.

I know i've said it 100 times on this thread but I still don't get why they completely abandoned the study group and classroom aspect of the show. It worked and would have been a solid premise IMHO for four years.

PS: Does anyone even watch the Office anymore? it's a joke and the fact they are planning on continuing it without Steve Carrell is an even bigger joke.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

99% of it flew way over my head.

Silly question, what was the ending about?

Honestly I dont know and my Twin Peaks freak of a friend wont tell me until I watch the show...so I am having a marathon later. ;) I will report back :p

edit: apparently Audrey Horne danced like that in many of the episodes.

Been a while since I've seen Twin Peaks, but I think it may have been something like in one of Cooper's visions, or when he goes into the red tent, and people are moving and talking backwards, and all sorts of other random weirdness is going on. The dance seemed to be similar to that of the midget dude, but the eyepatch threw me.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

To those that liked Community, I dont think it is a coincidence that it was directed by one of the guys from Super Troopers...Jay Whateverhisnameis ;)

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

While I should probably already know how to do this, I just figured out how to set my TiVo to record from a computer. I meant to set it this morning before I left to record Blue Bloods but totally spaced. I will not be home in time tonight to watch it live. And no, I do not have the show on Season Pass. It has not earned it yet.

I do watch it. It has some moment here and there. The opening where Stanley was oblivious to anything around him was hilarious. But yeah it has gone so down hill since oh seasons 3/4 which were the last to have any decent episodes really.

As for Community yeah I agree. I liked the classroom stuff. A mix of the good risky stuff and the classroom stuff would probably result in lots of great episodes.

EDIT: The trampoline one wasnt great but had a few good moments.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Ok about half the stuff in Psych can be cleared up in the first 2 episodes of Twin Peaks...the dancing is a bit more because each of the people does a dance similar to what they seemed to do on the show. (the guy dancing backwards did the same thing when he was drunk on the show) It is even funnier now :D

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I finally got the chance to sit down and watch my recordings of The Pacific. While it certainly wasn't any Band of Brothers, it was still pretty damm good, and often quite moving.

I think its major weakness was also shared by BOB, in that you couldn't really tell who was who outside of the main characters. As BOB went on, it overcame this, as that series really did focus on the group of soldiers, and followed most of them through the entire series. But The Pacific never quite did, being focused mainly on the three main characters, with everyone else being secondary, and those three characters dropping in and out of the storyline, not being there all the way through.

I'll still be picking up the DVD set though.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I just finished Spartacus. Pretty good lots of violence and Sex. Does anybody know what is going to happen know that Andy Whitfield is unable to finish season 2. Are they going to bring in a replacement. I know the prequel is due sometime soon which they were using to buy time until he was able to return.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Interesting that you mentioned the Pacific, I spent the past week watching all 10 episodes as well. I'm a little less high on it than you were, though there certainly were some pretty good parts.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

So his cancer isn't responding to treatment?

Yeah he is out back to aggressive treatment for his cancer and from what I read they are recasting the role. Narrowed down to 3 replacements so far.

An interesting case of product placement:

That's right. Jameson. In a juice box.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Watching the season finale of The Walking Dead on AMC. Has anyone here read any of the graphic novels? I haven't, but I suspect that we're already taking a huge step away from the source material in the last episode and a half.

I loved it...especially after I found out my grandfather was in the First Marines and fought at Guadal Canal. He told my father that was pretty ****ed accurate.

edit: I need a Jameson Juice Box!
