Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Dexter continues to get better and better. Another amazing episode, setting up what's sure to be an insane final 3.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Amazon is doing the Black Friday thing all week. Among the specials of interest to TV fans: The Prisoner, Knight Rider, Friends, Sex and the City, John Adams, Mad Men, Friends, The Simpsons, Dollhouse, Studio 60 and Lost are all part of the sale. Each title has certain hours when the specials are active (for example, all 10 seasons of Friends can be had for $10 apiece tonight), so plan accordingly.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I was bored and bought the first 3 seasons of Dexter. Its a show I've wanted to start watching for a while. I got through the first 2 seasons already and it is pretty awesome.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Question for anyone else who's watching Boardwalk Empire: did we know before last night that the Commodore is Jimmy's father?

The first two may be the best. 3 is okay, Smits is fantastic. 4 is just as good as the first two, and 5 so far is AWESOME.

Speaking of which, I'm pumped, yet dreading, the end to this season. I love where the story is going, but am depressed to think of possible endings.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Really? I must not have been paying attention earlier because I was pretty surprised.
I was too. I was actually guessing that Nucky was his father and he didn't know it. In fact, I still am guessing that, though maybe just because I'm looking too hard for a "Luke, I am your father" twist. We know that he was protective toward Gillian and Jimmy when they were younger, but how cool would it be (as a plot driver, I mean) if Nucky had also been sleeping with Gillian, and he was actually Jimmy's father, and they were keeping that from both the Commodore (because he wouldn't be happy that Nucky was also sleeping with his girl) and from Jimmy (because she was 13, and EW). If that were to come out, it could turn both the Commodore and Jimmy against Nucky, and that would make for some good TV.

Two episodes ago, when Nucky was talking to Jimmy he alluded to the beginning of his 'political' career when he became sheriff under Jimmy's father. If you put it together with how in the first couple of episodes it was said how long the Commodore had been mayor and Nucky treasurer, then you coul figure it out. I love the way the show is going, except for the fact that somehow Van Alden will somehow get away with blatantly killing the other agent. I could see Eli and Jimmy getting together to attempt to take down Nucky or even Jimmy getting Al to quiet Rothstein and becoming Nucky's only confidant.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Opening scene of tonight's 'Chuck' -- Linda Hamilton shoots three assassins going for Chuck and Sarah then says "Come with me if you want to live."

Hmmm, where have I heard that before?

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I just tried to stomach a little bit of cable news. It depressed the hell out of me to be reminded of what this country has become. I remember when Crossfire was as bad as it got, but this...

Jon Stewart! Why have you been unable to prevent this?!?!?!?
