Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Opening scene of tonight's 'Chuck' -- Linda Hamilton shoots three assassins going for Chuck and Sarah then says "Come with me if you want to live."

Hmmm, where have I heard that before?

You understand that about a third to half of "Chuck" is making tongue in cheek references to movies and shows in the past, right?

Um, that's the whole idea.

Mea culpa. :o

I've just starting watching it recently. My wife has been watching it since it began and finally convinced me to watch.

It's fun, in an over-the-top 'Get Smart' kinda way! :)

Chuck is like Geek Porn...in every scene you can find something. There are comic book covers, Tron references, he and Bryce spoke Klingon, lots of 80's movie references, and the first two seasons was basically "How many Spies Like Us references can we put in here" including Chevy Chase and a character named Emmett Milbarge. (a mash up of the names of the characters in Spies Like Us) :D

As for Boardwalk Empire, I like the show but it never really wows me like it should. In fact it seems to be dragging quite a bit lately. The Commodore as Jimmys dad bit (and what his hot Mom Gretchen Mol was doing in the episode) was cool, but I dunno I feel something is absent from the show. I am guessing it ends with a bang, going into next season, but of late Rothstein seems like a waste of a character (maybe that changes when he goes to Chicago over the Black Sox deal), Luciano is gone, Meyer Lansky had like 5 minutes where he acted like a whiny child and Nuchy has done nothing that isnt soap opera-ish. Get back to the gangsters and the booze and the politics...lower the amount of "As Atlantic City Turns".

JMHO.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I should have known better given the Oswego/Elmira connection. I thought you had another name you went by wskeebs or somethign like that for awhile?

I did but for some reason not only did my password not work, but my email wasn't right somehow? So I just started fresh.

I would have repped this but "must spread rep" is a sonofa*****.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I know that I'm probably the only one here who watches Sons of Anarchy, but I don't care, I'm still saying it. Wow. I am floored. A B- season just became an A in the last hour and a half.

LOVED all the Die Hard stuff in this week's episode.

I'm still giggling over Morgan taping the gun too far down his back and he couldn't reach it.

When he is spinning around trying to grab it...the looks on Casey and the Volkov Agents faces are priceless! :)

Excellent finale. I will be interested to see where it picks up next year. I also loved their special guest star Sonny Barger

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I finally saw last week's SoA last night, looking forward to seeing the finale tonight. This was the first season I've watched and to be honest, it hasn't been great. The baby story was terrible. It finally picked up when they got to Belfast but has really been pretty good since then.

Yeah. They took WAAAAAAY too long to tie up that loose end. I really liked the first few episodes, with Gemma's father and whatnot. But why oh why did it take them 7 episodes of a 13 episode season to get to Ireland?
