They gotta cross the state, more or less. Deadlines, man. And Lisa is the middle truck. The brotha is the lead truck. Jack is the back truck.

Ah, I guess I didn't see the lead... Whatever. My point is still there.

Deadlines, dead truckers.

There should be a T-shirt that says "That's rookie sh* right there." I dunno how many times I've heard that phrase said in that exact manner on the show. It's hilarious.

And you thought pushing the truck was a bad idea. Now Jack has to slow the lead truck down with his truck. Good Lord.

Daniel Tosh is the very definition of the modern day d-bag, but I have to admit that Tosh.0 is hilarious.

All the loose women
All the loose women
The rippin' and tearin'
The rippin' and tearin'

Clearly, that's a track just waiting for a remix of sorts.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

That was funny and disturbing. (The thing about the ripping and the tearing, I mean.)

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Did anyone else think the way Peggy tore down Freddy's suggestions about the cold cream campaign seemed a little forced? I mean, I know that her evolution from naive secretary to (presumably) hardened advertising executive is one of the show's overarching plotlines, but this seemed a bit out of character, like they're trying to hammer us over the head with how she's changed, especially considering how happy she was to see Freddy brought back into the fold.

She was over-the-top with Freddy because of residual anger from her relationship with her new boyfriend. I don't think it's coincidence that her big insult to Freddy--that he is 'old-fashioned'--is the exact same word her boyfriend used to describe her earlier in the show. So I don't think she's necessarily that angry with Freddy, just really angry at what he represents.

Ahh, good catch, I didn't pick up on that one. (To be honest the scenes with her and her boyfriend bored me and I zoned out a bit.)

Anyone check out Rubicon on AMC? Only two episodes in and its got me hooked.

Yeah, there's always so much really subtle, deep stuff going on that I miss a lot too. It's nice that there's a show that actually trusts the audience to catch that stuff, as opposed to every reality TV show, where the characters narrate every stupid thing going through interviews.

I watched the first two episodes of Rubicon on-demand last night. I pretty much agree with the general sentiment that it's been pretty slow, but intriguing enough that I want to see where it's going. I don't think it's Mad Men, but I had the same, 'I'm not sold, but I'll see where this going' feeling through the first couple episodes of Mad Men--though after re-watching, the pilot for Mad Men is amazing. Part of it is that it just takes a while to get used to so many characters in something that big. It's hard to shed light on a shadowy world-dominating conspiracy group and not make it seem stupid. Hopefully they can do it.

My other summer TV watching:

1. Lie to Me- Pretty big disappointment. The change in show runners has led to a pretty big decline in the quality of the show. Tim Roth is still incredibly awesome, but the cases are too predictable and not that interesting.

2. Deadliest Catch-I was kind of worried how they'd handle Phil's death, because it would be very easy to do that poorly, but they did such an amazing, beautiful job with it. I don't think it's hyperbole to say that was some of the greatest television ever.

3. Hot in Cleveland-Basically a Golden Girls remake. Kind of dumb, but an entertaining 30-minute sitcom.

4. Futurama-I think it's been really good so far, and stands up to the original episodes, which is a pretty big compliment, since I think few shows are as good as the original Futuramas. The Bender-Hermes story was a little too blatantly trying to copy earlier stories that worked, but it still works, and plus, we learned that Hermes ate a calculator to gain its powers, so it was worth it.

The Robosexuality, Hermes / Bender, and DaVinci episodes were my three favorite of the season so far. The other four have been good, but not fantastic enough where I'd go crazy trying to convince people to watch them.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I had heard June in an earlier rumor.

Frankly, and IIRC it was hinted at in that interview that whoever posted, I think the writers/creators didn't know if it would last this long, so now they really have to either bring it all home, and/or make this upcoming season even BETTER. Which, either way, is scary and awesome.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I am totally addicted to Pretty Little Liars. Juicy fluff. It's awesome.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I'm happy someone else has admitted it. :o I missed this week's episode, but I have it DVR-ed for this weekend.

I can usually be counted on to admit I like dumb, girly things. ;) I started DVRing it in June, just got around to watching them last weekend. I want more episodes - although every scene with Allison makes me cringe. I hated girls like her. What a *****.

Agreed. I also have a creepy crush on Toby. I don't know how far you've gotten, but I was sad to see the turn of events of the episode 2 weeks ago. (I've always had a thing for the social...outsiders).

Mr. Fitz looks familiar, but I don't think I've actually seen him in anything.
