Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Sometime this summer I'm going to watch all the episodes of "Castle". I do love me some Nathan Fillion.

(watching "Firefly" at the moment)

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Deadliest Warrior tonight was alright. Not usually a fan of the mano a mano final battle scenes.

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Except for when the pirate pulls out a gun and shoots the knight. That's classic television.

Haha yeah, that was pretty awesome.

When you have Attila and Alexander just wrasslin around though I'm not a big fan. Wouldn't it have been more realistic to have them each in command of 1000 troops, and then simulated it that way?

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

I watched the series premiere of Happy Town last night. Finally there is a show where people don't have crazy accents, they all talk normally!

I think I liked it. It kept my attention the whole time as I was trying to figure out what was going on. This seems to be a show with alot of twists and that is the kind of show I like. So I guess I'll keep watching it. The one thing I didn't like was that there were some parts that were just way too over the top, for anyone who watched it, the brothers at the junkyard was one example.

I meant to post this yesterday but forgot.

I participated in a panel last spring that got to watch the first two episodes of Happy Town and do an in-depth survey/review of all aspects of the show. I thought it was really good and I'm looking forward to watching the whole season. I hope viewership is strong enough to keep it around.
Wasn't home last night so the premiere is on my DVR. It'll be interesting to see if they kept it the same as it was when I saw it almost a year ago. Lots of intertwining storylines which should keep it interesting.

I don't remember the brothers at the junkyard, maybe that was something they added in. Did they keep the sheriff who's starting to lose his marbles? Did they bring anything up about the attic at the old woman's house?
If not, I'm not ruining anything, but i couldn't remember if that was the first or second episode. The second episode was the one that really got me excited about the show.

The brothers at the junkyard are the first ones that the sheriff suspects killed the guy in the icehouse, they were building a dunk tank when the sheriff goes to question them.

The sheriff is definitely loosing his marbles. They bring up the attic, that no one can go up there, but they don't show anything about what is actually up there. I especially like the twist at the end of the episode right before Henley starts going up the attic stairs, when she's on the phone.

I hope this one lasts, at least long enough to tell us what the hell is going on. :p

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

I read an article about it, I am pretty sure they set it up where you find out the killer at the end of Season 1 (which I believe ABC has already paid for the entirety of) with new mysteries along the way in case the show gets picked up for another season.

After watching only one episode it is obvious that they could potentially have many different mysteries in the series. We don't even know if there is one or two killers at this point. They could end up catching a killer at the end of the season and still have another one out there.

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Heard a guy on the radio this morning refer to it as a modern version of Twin Peaks. I can't say, as I haven't watched my recording of it yet, but the commercials I saw for it reminded me a lot of the short-lived CBS series Harper's Island.

Just the whole tone of the two series, seemed very similar. Maybe the full episode will prove that wrong.

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Just watched Happy Town. Very Twin Peaks-ish, but also still has that Harper's Island vibe to it as well. Interesting that the Henley/Chloe character was from Snoqualmie, Washington, which is where Twin Peaks was filmed.

Three actors from October Road in the cast, which makes sense because that series creator, Scott Rosenberg, is also one of the creators and executive producer of this one.

I liked it, definitely gonna keep watching.

Community is so good that it made Chevy Chase funny again.
