Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

And it is a goooooood episode so far.

No ****. I have been waiting all season for an episode like this (not that they others weren't good, this one is just awesome so far).

...

OMFG... This standoff between the disposal guy and the brother-in-law is simply amazing.

They aren't, they're just there to occasionally break up the main narrator with scripted lines.

Right, but usually I expect someone I have never heard of, they have a bunch of books behind them, have either "Dr." or "Professor" (or something to that effect) before their name, and have the name of the university they work at below said name. That or they are generally well-respected such as a Ken Burns, David Attenborough, etc.

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Considering how important 9/11 was in the history of this country I'd say a couple of mentions are necessary. I just hope they are in the late 20th century before they start to really mention it...

Agreed it was a large part of American History. However they mentioned it during the Revolutionary War and the British fleet arriving in New York.

That's a bit too early. Especially considering WAR of 1812, THE CIVIL WAR, BOTH WORLD WARS, THE VIETNAM WAR, THE KOREAN WAR, and THE GULF WAR all happen between the Revolutionary War and 9/11.

(Of course there are minor wars in between but my point stands.)

Holy crap. This is by far the best episode of Breaking Bad all season.

Looks like they posted the pre-credit sequence for next week on the AMC website:

Good Lord, this season is getting ridiculously awesome.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought that 'Nam and the Gulf thing weren't officially wars?

Edit: the US hasn't been in a "war" since WWII. ;)

Just sayin'. :p

Ok, fine...

(Of course there are minor wars and things people refer to as wars but others so cleverly point out that they were simply armed combat between various militaries, militias, and factions that was fought without a formal declaration of war in between but my point stands.)

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Anyone else have a war or battle or whatever else they're called they want to add?

That was excellent. Love Mr. Heckles showing some spine!

Don't forget the War with the Barbary Pirates ;) , which was an actual declared war but I'm sure wasn't mentioned, though I will check for it when I watch it later.
