I see Justin Long on a lot of game shows recently. Did he run out of the money he earned between 2005 and 2010 when he had a career?

Yeah, it was tight. I don't disagree with him making that decision. I was just hoping for a glimmer of hope at the end. The glimmer he gave wasn't good enough for me I guess. Probably my own personal failing.

My thoughts: They seemed to leave a bit of hope for the Mossbacher family outside of the son deciding to stay behind, but I was perplexed by Rachel coming back to Shane claiming she was fine only to still look depressed when they hugged. I was also disappointed that Tanya cut bait with Belinda.

Slap Shot, I think that's exactly the point that Deutsche Gopher Fan was making. It's holding a mirror up to society. I was just hoping cause I am such a hopeful person that I'd get a little bit more in the end then I did.

In that regard I think DGF is correct but from the perspective of what a continuance of these stories would look like hold out hope for the Zahn family. :^)

Well, I think that is left to the imagination. It's a limited series that has now been announced as an anthology series for season 2. So these characters are done. I agree. The Zahn's probably came out of this the best.

I think we are seeing Rachel immediately after the moment she had resigned herself to the fact that the attraction of a comfortable life, with a man she may not - likely won’t ever - truly love is more appealing than a life of economic struggle so that she can hold onto her convictions. She’s mourning her loss of her sense of self, and saying what’s needed to keep her financially secure life. And Shane is too narcissistic and stupid to care about her words conflicting with her body language.
