TV 19 - Simpsons Did It

Loki was a good story. My only complaints were trying to sell us that awkward and unpleasantly rancid love for Sylvie and reserving the right to milk the audience for S2, and I understand both are motivated purely for money.

The TVA is the first comic book organization I really enjoyed. All the prior Justice League wannabes were overblown adolescent testosterone. But the TVA was carried off brilliantly and had depth. It was the star of the series, like the Island in The Prisoner.

The show's artistic aesthetic is so gorgeous and dead on for the banality of evil. They got the flavor perfectly. My dad worked for the MIC in the 50s and 60s and so I have seen hundreds of little artifacts. They perfectly captured the affect right down to fonts.

The ending was satisfactory; it wasn't so dumbed down as to be offensive like Wanda Vision. The show got worse as it went along but they all will. The real interest is in the beginning when you are off-kilter. Once you're located there's nothing left but play out the string in one of a handful of cliche plot arcs. But giving them slack for that, they did fine.

The MCU is always going to be meh, but this was far more than I expect of it. Worth the watch.

I am very happy about this.

2.1 was great.

It was great, I just wanted to see more.

ok so mythic quest- wow. Love seeing F Murray Abraham in such a different role than Homeland. This show is just great. I just finished the quarantine episode, laughed almost as hard as we did in the Nazi episode

Gf and I are working through Burn Notice. Her second time through, whereas I had never seen it before. Got me thinking - has there ever been a TV drama set in Miami that wasn't over-the-top and campy?
