Who Killed Santa: Murdeville. I missed this last year when it came out, but watched it today and it was fun. As scripted as it was, you could literally see the wheels turning in Maya Rudolph and Jason Bateman several times when having to improv. Pete Davidson was as usual a worthless addition for me.

I never watched the actual series but is that how it was also produced - scripted with improv mixed in?

The Netflix Cup. I should not have expected more but I turned this off after the first 10 minutes of actual golf play. It's golf's silly season on steroids. Just awful.

I always root for Pete Davidson because I always think "that guy could be my son and he could also be dead in an hour."

I have not seen someone so obviously at risk since Amy Winehouse bit it.

Basically. The guests are improv-ing, everyone else (Will Arnett and the extras) have lines. Honestly it works better with people who are not good improv-ers (Marshawn Lynch) than with people who are (Conan O'Brien).

I know I’m in the minority but I find Pete Davidson funny.

He was funny when he was basically the young mascot hanging around SNL who occasionally did skits and banged famous women. As an adult trying to be all adult it doesn't work as well. And I think Mulaney is still more of an OD risk than Pete Davidson.

Mulaney is a lot smarter, so he is probably a higher risk. "To make people more interesting" gets out of control. I hope Mulaney learned the lesson: stick with people who love you. They are your only real protection. I can't imagine what it is like to be surrounded by the absolute idiocy of celebrity, combined with its entitlement and confidence. It has to be like living in a barnyard with nobody to talk to but pigs. I'm sure I'd put a needle in my arm or a bullet in my brain after a few years of that.

I've quite liked The Artful Dodger so far. I don't love the Fagin character, but the male and female leads are great, they've recreated the time period quite well, and the writing isn't insulting.

That was amazing, thank you.

And the glass of OJ should win an Emmy -- that is how you write and shoot a scene.
I doubt much of that scene was scripted. Probably had bullet points but I’d bet that Pete and John improvised most of it.

Anyone else watching The Curse on showtime?

Nathan fielder and Emma stone play obnoxious “flipanthropy” flippers who are trying to revive a town with eco houses for a reality show

as with anything Nathan fielder, it’s massively uncomfortable

RE: The Gilded Age

That was their way to earn a living while Broadway was closed for COVID. They made a big deal about it when that show first released.
