Watched Ep 1 (of 6) of The Gold. Based upon a true story.

Six armed men rob a Brink's-Mat depot just outside London in 1983 that they hoped would net them a million pounds in cash and instead they ended up with 26m in gold bullion.

Now they're stuck trying to figure out how to fence that much loot knowing that the whole community knows of the heist and it will be extremely difficult to pull off.

Ep 1 was very good and well worth a look if the story interests you.

The old Native couple on TLOU were great! Recognized her from Northern Exposure

I haven't watched any TLOU yet (plan on it eventually), but Northern Exposure is one of my favorite shows ever. Had to buy the box set since it's not streaming anywhere. Just watched through it again recently. I assume the Native woman you are speaking of is Elaine Miles who played Marilyn Whirlwind?

Yep!

northern exposure was great

That’s it! Of course I recognized Graham Greene from half of the three million things he’s been in. Like Dances With Wolves, The Green Mile, Maverick, and most all, explosions expert Edgar Montrose on The Red Green Show.

He was also in Northern Exposure! Played Leonard Quinhagak the shaman who helped train Ed on becoming a shaman. Was he also in TLOU?

Graham Greene was too??

yea he was the other half of the Native couple with Elaine

He was only in maybe 4-6 total episodes across the run for Northern Exposure.

Watching through it recently there were quite a few people who were in only an episode or 2 or maybe up to like 5 or 6 max who I recognized seeing in other shows. Shows like Seinfeld, ER, West Wing, Deadwood etc. And some big names when they were young. Jack Black was in an episode where he played the captain of the fly fishing team at the high school and was also the homecoming king (there were only like 2 other guys in the class). Regina King (Watchmen) was in an episode, a young Kaley Cuoco, Stephen Root, Patrick Warburton, and some others.

I don't get to talk about this show much cause none of my friends have seen it.

I remember Stephen root, I do not remember Regina! I need to rewatch

Regina played mother nature in an episode where Shelly was pregnant and had a vision while in the woods.

George Costanza's fiance Susan had a small role in one episode. When Chris had his pheromone thing going on that attracted the ladies like crazy she played one of the two women who he was with one night...but in which he failed to perform.

This was a good episode of TLOU. Clunky by this show's lofty standards, but still a really strong episode.

loved that the show featured the cup. Lol.

the old couple was FANTASTIC

I watched the new ABC series The Company You Keep on Sunday night. It's a formulaic caper of a show - criminal and CIA agent meet cute, spend 36 hours in a hotel suite not telling each other who they really are. It's light, fun fluff. Good looking leading characters that can act. I'll continue watching.

Dr. Mrs. and I started watching Full Swing. It's a very stupid PGA version of DTS. We love it.

Also: Cunk on Earth is adorable.

Was that the chick from Northern Exposure? Sure seemed like her?

I liked the episode a lot.

Yes, Elaine Mills who played Marylin Whirlwind, Dr Fleischman's assistant. I haven't seen it but apparently the other half of the couple is played by Graham Greene who also appeared in a few episodes of Northern Exposure (see our whole conversation about the show in previous posts).

Yes, he was a shaman. I barely remember him talking to Ed.

The Bachelor.

Holy balls, UB40 sounds bad now.

I got to hang with a few members of UB40 and The Smithereens once after a show they played at an outdoor tent for a freaking wine tasting event of all things at Hyland Hills in Bloomington. Not as cool as getting to sit in a fatty circle with some of the Dead nor playing beer pong at a house party with some of REM and The Replacements, but still pretty interesting.
