I do not like superhero crap or much of the comic book variety, but I like the Sandman so far. Then again, Gaiman is a fantastic writer
Gaiman really likes to use the various mythologies, combining an twisting them to really make unique stories that just blend seamlessly, yet he never loses the essence of the gods and goddesses during that mixing. It’s a talent that every other person I’ve seen attempt it completely fails to accomplish.

I haven't watched the bonus episode yet, but the main stories over the initial 10 episodes were well done. Sadly sounds like it won't get a 2nd season because even though it's been a hit for Netflix, it hasn't been a big enough hit to justify the cost.

Well they need the money for the next round of terrible action flicks and Adam Sandler dreck. Netflix is a pyramid scheme pretending to be a studio.

Someone will pick it up...WB still owns it and despite their terrible money issues HBO could put it on and it would be a good move for them.

Good God The Bear gave me ptsd from working in restaurants! Especially my buddies small pizza shop...

Watched it all in less than 24 hours...

I do on occasion. It's another channel that may or may not have content that I want to watch at a particular time.

The shows I can remember watching on them are The Good Place (NBC, 2016-2020) and Community (NBC, 2009-2014). And we hate-watched The Bachelor (ABC, about 2006-2010).

Looking over the show lists I don't see anything else until you get back to the early 80s.

I thought it was like evangelical radio. Yeah, you know it's ubiquitous, but nobody you have ever met listens to it.

NBC has the Law and Order trio. Still watch some of that. The Blacklist is still on and I think there's another season coming. So, there are a few shows left that I watch.

I'll still watch Greys because after 15 years watching hey why not watch some more; but it's been on fumes for awhile. "Ghosts" on CBS shows actual promise. The occasional primetime game show is good if I need background noise and I don't feel like turning my brain on to watch a streaming/cable show with actual content that night.

Messiah. Netflix show of 10 episodes. I binge watched it in 5 hours by fast forwarding through every scene involving two major characters (the CIA agent and the minister's wife). And I actually enjoyed it, particularly the acting of Mehdi Dehbi and Tomer Sisley. it's one of those sows which is simultaneously well-written and spectacularly stupid. The Agency plot arc is as risible as Homeland, so just excise it. The Middle East scenes, and the is-he-or-isn't-he? messianic shtick is genuinely well done. This is what The leftovers was trying to do but just didn't have the writing chops. I recommend it, with the strong proviso to cut your losses on the pathetic spy stuff.

LOTR: Elf Sex is dreck. That this man's profound work has been reduced to MCU-level cliche and adolescent cant is a tragedy.

Hopefully the estate is making a mint.

I'm sure the grandkids are doing just fine living a Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years lifestyle.

Reading up on Fargo S5 (likely not released until 2023) it will star Jon Hamm, Jennifer Jason Leigh,Juno Temple and Joe Keery among others, and Noah Hawley returns as the showrunner who also headed up S1.

The Bear was perfect, all the way through.

I wish they weren't bringing it back, but greed will always win.

Maybe the writers are strong enough to prevent the inevitable slide into garage. Maybe.

But I doubt it.

I'm enjoying HOUSE OF THE DRAGON so far. It's laying the groundwork of all the characters very well and you can easily pick up on their viewpoints. Lot's of grey, no straight good or bad.

Having missed GoT on the original run, I don't feel Im really missing anything for this series. Did have a question though: Did GoT have the time jumps that are shown over the first three episodes of HOUST OF THE DRAGON? I do find that a bit odd, but understand the story elements that were needed for it.

The time jumping is new I think. I do not remember it last time.
