(I think that is a terrible idea)

an that would be hilarious...you thought Trump and his racist cronies thought it was rigged before! The #whitelash would be glorious :D

(it is a terrible idea)

Like I said the last time this story was in the news, I honestly believe that we would see the second civil war if they stole the election from Trump.

http://fairreporters.net/world/the-best-education-systems-in-the-world-in-2015/

29th in this ranking of sophomore math and science.

http://www.edudemic.com/learning-curve-report-education/

14th in this one.

Not a fair comparison. The dropout rate in most European countries for instance ranges from 15-30%. SE Asia averages around 33%. In the US it's less than 10% which obviously means a wider array of students (not just the best and brightest) are taking these tests in the US. Also without looking it up I'd wager the US has the least homogeneous student population of major developed countries.

To paraphrase the old west, it's not stealing if we do it legally.

That said, if the EC somehow went off the rails, Hillary would legally be the president. The liberal elites on both coasts would be smug. The press would make noises that this is highly irregular while cheering. There would be chaos. And there would be a Constitutional Convention in 2018 to stave off secession/civil war.

Not sure what this has to do with Trump or the election, but I'll get it a try.

I'm staying with in laws in a mobile home deep in the woods of northeast Oklahoma. The same woods (though I have no idea where in them) when 37 years ago, I spent an evening witnessing illegal and tightly guarded cock fights--chicken wire fight pit, men waving cash and betting, the long steel spurs strapped to the birds, death in a bloody instant. Evangelical tent revivals. A blend I still don't understand of Genuine warmth and hospitality and racism. The sweet softened edges that the Ozark/Okie/middle south dialect gives to speech. Like the music they listen to, a life-view that is somewhere between blues and victimhood. Deeply red, Trump country. I do not identify in any way, except that I love these people too and their food, music, woods, speech, and "come-on-back" charm. Even their mild disdain for too much education. Ugly, beautiful America.

All fair points, but mookie used the term greatest. It's at least debatable since all it takes is finding one country better to not be the greatest.

Why would we want to stave of secession?

It should, but Trump supporters will just say it sounds like sour grapes.

One of the things mentioned in that article as a fake news story was an anti Trump person paying for protestors. I thought I had seen a story about a guy who said he purposefully planted that as a joke and the Trump people took it seriously and ran with it. And blamed George Soros for it. I don't know what to believe. I would love to see something that proves Soros did not do that.

Is this the part of Oklahoma where the plural for y'all is "y'all two?"

Maybe he meant that Leon is getting larger?

:) I've never heard it. This area is more Ozark hill country than Okie.

I had a friend in college who was from Oklahoma - I forget which city, but her father was the radio play-by-play announcer for Oklahoma State U or U of OK. She let it slip once while on a camping trip with the rock climbing club and then blushed, realizing the looks that everyone had just given her because we were in a group of four at the time. Then she felt compelled to explain herself. :)

So let me get this straight...you are from North Dakota, you live in Wisconsin and your inlaws are cockfighting Okies that live in a trailer park? Wow...

;)

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

I took a walk through the Minneapolis skyway system today to see what was open for the people like me who actually have to work today. The place is pretty well shutdown until you get around Macy's and down towards Target - neither store would I enter today. During that stroll through the skyway system I saw a homeless woman playing on her smart phone. #PrioritiesInTrump'sAmerica.
