Scooby, I'm not trying to be an azz, but what do you hope to accomplish with your responses since the 8th?

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

I took a walk through the Minneapolis skyway system today to see what was open for the people like me who actually have to work today. The place is pretty well shutdown until you get around Macy's and down towards Target - neither store would I enter today. During that stroll through the skyway system I saw a homeless woman playing on her smart phone. #PrioritiesInTrump'sAmerica.

On a similar note, I took a drive through prime swing state Trump territory today and saw a lot of Totally Not Racist Just Economically Anxious homes with pools, boats, trampolines, etc.

My favorite story today is that our new Secretary of Education is a major funder of a conservative non-profit that recently advocated ending compulsory education so our children could experience the exciting life of working at Chick-Fil-A.

I believe she also gave millions to Trump's campaign...but that is cool cause Pay for Play only matters with Hillary

And who cares what idiots on talk radio think...anyone who looks at Obama's 8 years and blames him for the obstructionism is a moron.

On another note Jill Stein's Big Ego filed for a recount in Wisconsin. My guess is she thinks it was an inside job like 9/11.

She also thinks workers are overpaid, thinks school vouchers are good, is connected to Blackwater and a pyramid scheme. Gotta drain the swamp and fill it with billionaires!

Edit: Also gotta love the "update" to that linked post where he says he does not believe anything that he wrote in the following paragraphs.

To be fair: vouchers can be good if you leave reasonable limits on them. If, in theory you can save $X on a bunch of private school kids and it costs less than X you're good. But if you remove any income limits* it just turns into an upper class handout.

* rich kids are more likely to go to private school anyway, so at that point you're mostly paying the wealthy to do what they're already doing instead of encouraging more kids to go private and have public schools cost less

Awesome, republicans have been saying that same thing(change dems and repubs around there) for 8 years T FF.
Saw a great exchange on one of the cable shows the other day that made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants.
1: The Democrats in Congress need to fight everything that this Tyrant brings before us.
2: How's that different from what the Republicans did to Obama? You know, the obstructionism you complained about.
1: The Republicans did it out of spite, racism and politics. We'll be doing it out of principle.

Venting my anger that will never go away. Too many Rovers in this country thinking it was a sure thing. I knew this would happen and here it is and I'm mad and will stay mad.

Simple solution: means test everything. If you won life's lottery, good for you, you don't need the assistance.

Turn all entitlements into charity and de-stigmatize charity. Read the studies and realize the US has high inequality and low social mobility for a developed country. Above all, tax the bejesus out of inheritance and start each new generation as close as possible to equal. Then let laissez faire rip.

Not that I agree or disagree with you but..

What do you do about farms and small businesses inherited by heirs? As to entitlements, whose charity? Mine or the government's?

I think they're a distraction. Let them be passed on.

You can give all the personal charity you want. The government also has a role to play because private charity has never been remotely sufficient.

This isn't rover's fault or anyone who thought it was a sure thing.

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

I have no idea and neither do you. This anger is going to accomplish nothing unless it drives you to do more.

If you didn't vote, you better vote next time. If you voted, apparently it wasn't enough. Make a bigger effort next time. Volunteer. If you volunteered, ask your party what more you can do.
