Yeah, I knew that going into the whole thing. Not going to be uber cheap but there are cheap ways to reduce costs (or free such as putting on a sweatshirt). We'll see if I even get the house and then I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I put together a complete month to month budget using pretty conservative (read: high) numbers. I came out fine in the end. If it ends up being a bit higher than I expected, it's not like I couldn't rent out a room :D.

One way that I'm going to try to reduce my utility bills is to get a secondary source of heat (ie. wood/corn stove) so I can go to off-peak for electricity, since I have electric heat. They will charge less for it, since they can turn off your heat for a certain amount of time per hour. They just require a secondary source of heat.

Chester Creek is fantastic. Right in the middle of Duluth it feels like you are up near Silver Bay.

Depends on who's playing. For the show Swanted is seeing (tribute bands for Tool, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, RATM, Soundgarden), probably not; if you're seeing, say, Bear Hands (playing there the night before), hoo boy is it ever.

It's not really in the Village, except maybe by the broadest "anything between 14th and Canal" definition of the area; if I saw an apartment on that block advertised as being in the East Village I'd consider it to be misleading. And as gentrified and NYU-ified as the Village is these days, there aren't a whole lot of hipsters living there anymore, except for older ones who bought into the neighborhood when it was cheap, like 30-35 years ago.

No, as far as I'm concerned, I'm in the city right now. I can't shoot a shotgun in my backyard because I'm in city limits, so that tells me that I'm not in the country.

You coming over on Saturday? Saturday night?

I work until 11:30 on Saturday, so I may be there depending on when we actually get out. I'll have to check when I work sunday too (my guess is 2), to make sure I don't work at 7:30.

My kid's peewee team had a minor celeb for a ref the other night- Jack Carlson. He was the Carlson brother who got called up from Johnstown to the WHA St. Paul Fighting Saints so he couldn't be in "Slapshot" with his two brothers Jeff and Steve. He was replaced by David Hanson and the brothers were called the Hanson brothers in the movie. Jack looks like he's been in a hockey fight or twenty. ;)

so are my parents, but I've shot in the yard and had no issues. Many times, in fact.
