People can block others' caller ID from their home phones, too. My brother does that. It drives me nuts because in addition to not allowing his number to come through, he won't leave a message either. It's annoying. It's caused me to pick up some sales calls, but I have no apprehension about just hanging up on them immediately.

In case anyone is reading the board this afternoon: what do you bring as a gift to an engagement party? Is a bottle of wine a good choice?

Booze always works. I'd bring some hard alcohol, but if you fancy NYC fops like your faggy wine then so be it.
